The lockdown bar has been cut and the edges beveled. It is just sitting in place, as are the playfield monitor and siderails.
I get dizzy when I look at this prototype. It was never built. Mostly part of a Usability exercise to determine how much information we could visualize on the map by using more complex artifacts.
We decided to move on a different direction, but technologically speaking we had all the elements needed to produce these visualizations. This was the beauty of working on flash... no restrictions on how complex the visuals were.
It reminds me of those "infoporn" charts that you find in some magazines.

This multi-color image visualizes structures containing different lipid subtypes that the researchers found in the same region of the fat body tissue within a fruit fly. Each lipid subtype has a different molecular composition that is represented by a different color in this image. These lipid subtypes were found using the team’s new PRM-SRS imaging detection technologies. The research team led by UC San Diego bioengineers that created this technology believe that it is the first method for distinguishing multiple lipid subtypes in cells and tissue samples by using nondestructive label-free optical imaging methods.
