I created the design for these cat frames (look closely) and sent them to Shapeways for 3D printing in sparkly alumide.
The pendant visualises EEG attention (red) and meditation (green) data and visualises it on this LED matrix in real time. Using a Mindwave Mobile, Bluetooth dongle and Shrimp microcontroller.

I played about with these renders a bit using Photolooks for Photoshop, adding a bit of vignetting, colour grading and diffusion (glows). DOF by vray. All lit as usual by one of my HDR skies (probably this one)
I keep going on about Photolooks, but it really is amazing. Render out to full float exr, load it into photolooks, and its a bit like editing raw in lightroom on steroids.
After a couple of years paid a visit to the grand Krang Shuri falls and was amazed at the changes. Earlier there were hardly any people visiting this fall, but as it grows in popularity, the number of visitors has also increased. Last time around, me and my friends were the only souls around, but this time I was astonished to find a carnival-like atmosphere there. People picnicking, taking selfies and basically making a nuisance of themselves. What once was pristine nature has now become a bustling place, and as usual the irresponsible visitors have littered the place with chips packets, juice packs and cans, beer bottles and cans and plastic bags. I felt acute sadness viewing this degradation of nature and wondered how things will be, a couple of years from now.
Anyway, had been planning to re-visit this fall, as I did not manage to get images of it which satisfied me, and then recently on viewing Sayan Chakravarty's sublime images, decided that I have to do it. Luckily fellow photographers Arup Bhattacharjee and Rajarshi Choudhury also wanted to visit this place, so off we went, with Sanjeev Singhania and another friend in tow. Now with the horde of selfie clickers, it was difficult to find a place to place to properly place the tripod, and manage a decent composition, so had no option but to put down the tripod in the rushing waters and hope for the best. So no proper visualisation, no creative thinking, just a quick framing through the lcd, focus and click, vertical framing opted for, to exclude the people crowding the sides, if you look properly you can see people behind
the fall too. At one point when the sun broke through the clouds and sent a shaft of light, up came a rainbow in the mist of the fall and I included that in the image.
It's a jaw-dropping fall visually and I feel I do not have the capability to portray it in its magnificence, but still I tried to get a satisfactory image.
At Krang Shuri (saw a newly painted board erected on the path to the fall, I knew it as Krang Suri earlier, maybe the change shows the proper local pronunciation), Amlarem, West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, India. The name means Cave of the Sword, the cave indicating the recess behind the fall, and why the sword, I haven't the faintest idea.

The microphone listens to the music and sends the signal through an LM386 amplifier. This then goes to the ATtiny13 which analyses the signal. It determines a running average volume, and lights the LEDs if the current volume exeeds this by a certain scaler. As a result, the LEDs always flash with the peaks and are off normally, no matter how high the volume (until the amplifier starts clipping, anyway!).

I've built this for use in excruciating social situations such at conferences, networking, bars, etc. I'm interested in extending our emotive state by displaying if we're paying attention to whom we're speaking to or if our thoughts / attention is drifting off to the canapes or our to-do list. Cette image permet de visualiser les grandes cellules cordales vacuolisées (région 3 de la photo P1d_004) à l’aspect si caractéristique. Celles-ci sont remplies d’une substance gélatineuse, semi-fluide et incompressible qui, avec la gaine, donnent à la corde flexibilité et élasticité. Les parois cellulaires épaisses et accolées sont clairement visibles, et confèrent à l’ensemble un aspect rappelant - en tout cas pour celles et ceux ayant déjà observé des coupes de plantes - du tissu végétal.

Notochord cells (higher magnification of area 3 of picture P1d_004) showing their typical appearance. The cells are filled with a semi-fluid gelatinous substance that gives, together with the sheath, the notochord its flexibility and elasticity. These thick-walled cells lie closely pressed together and the tissue resembles that of plants more than do most animal tissues.

A scaled model of an Advanced Gas-Cooled Nuclear Reactor Core (AGR) is currently tested on the University of Bristol Shaking Table. The rig is an octagonal array consisting of 5901 bricks and 44000 keys spanning 8 layers. Together they form an array of linked columns that simulate the fuel and control channels of the reactor core. The bricks are designed to rock relative to each other in a controlled manner due to the boundary conditions. The mobility of the core and the corresponding channel profile distortion is considered to be a key safety issue as it affects the insertion of the control rods and the safe shut-down of the reactor during a seismic event.
A 35,000 degrees of freedom, finite element model that simulates the 3-dimensional non-linear dynamic response of the rig components is used to predict the deformations in the array. Data processing and visualisation of the numerical results is challenging not only due to the vast output volume but also due to the multi-body interaction problem at hand. For a typical seismic excitation parallel to the x axis, presented is the visualisation of absolute maximum brick-to-brick separation S envelopes along x and y directions in all layers.
