As it turns out, although F# did not get released with VS08, it is available in the form of a stand alone installer which provides VS08 integration. Installation is fast and easy, and in no time you will be up and running with a powerful functional programming language, a great IDE, and full access to the latest and greatest APIs that Microsoft has to offer (currently v3.5). This is a screenshot with a few niceties highlighted in blue:

This must be the dumbest error message I've seen in a long time. Why on earth would I want to discard my changes and use the last build? I obviously just made some changes to the code, so it stands to reason that I'm testing them right now. So . . . why would I do this?
(This error usually comes right after I've spent a half-hour tracking down a bug in the code, so it typically results in a rather aggravated programmer behind the keyboard. Of course I want to go back and fix it, you moron!)
Could this be any less helpful? Google found a really good document on debugging debugger problems, but it's not in there.
And, obviously, clicking Help tells me that help isn't installed. Nice. Bloody Visual Studio.
AAAAARGH!
