A male Sambar Deer courting a female in Bijrani Range of Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand.
Scent sprayed with her urine by the female can be detected by males miles away. The female kept her tail raised as a further sign to any males that might approach of her readiness to mate.
Indian Paradise Flycatcher bird perched on a tree near Ludhiana, Punjab.
The bird is a very rare sighting in this area. It was showing an intriguing behaviour as it was chasing after a group of babbler birds from tree to tree. The behaviour seemed akin to Pied Cuckoos which are brood parasites. They follow babblers to their nesting location and then lay similar looking eggs so that they can hatch in the nest and the fledglings are raised by the host birds.
