Plain Prinia perched in a paddy field near Ludhiana, Punjab.

This bird has strong legs and here it can be seen ready to launch itself into flight.

A tractor-trolley on a highway near Ludhiana, carrying Punjabi farmers to the site of farmers' protests in Delhi.

The tractor-trolley, which is used extensively in rural North India - for anything from carrying harvest to the market, to taking farmers' families on pilgrimages - has become symbolic of the protests by Indian farmers against new farm laws enacted by the Indian Government in 2020. It is a symbol of the affluence that farmers from this region gained from the existing government supported system of agriculture over the decades, and also of their stagnancy as renumeration from this system continues to decrease for the farmers.

Hundreds of thousands of farmers have descended on the capital city, New Delhi, demanding a rollback of the laws. No amounts of hardships seem to be dampening the spirit of these farmers in their constitutional protests for democratic rights.

Barking Deer on a jungle road in Dhikala Range of Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand.

Muntjacs are the oldest species among the deer family. Despite its name the Indian Muntjac's range is not restricted to South Asia, and is found abundantly in South-East Asia as well.

Green Leaf Warbler bird among hyacinth in Harike Wildlife Sanctuary, Punjab.

Warblers species are very difficult to identify as the differences are in small details. To identify this bird using only facial features was next to impossible.

Flock of bar-headed geese in grasslands of Pong Lake Wildlife Sanctuary, Himachal.

I was in the midst of so many of these geese during this visit to Pong. Plus, I was able to observe and photograph them from close proximity. To get any closer, I would need to be completely camouflaged.
