Make sure you bring enough stuff to keep your equipment clean. Canned air can help you out when you need to change lenses on your camera in a sandstorm. Also, turn it upside down and give, the sand a little spritz and Bam! You've got yourself a handy little squib hit.

The Academy Award for the Best VFX in a movie won by our company Rhythm & Hues Studios for the movie The Golden Compass for the year 2008

orange/red screens lit by ultraviolet lights provided nice silhouettes for matte passes. the emulsion of the film we used at the time was very sensitive to that color.

C.I.S. developed a system of pulling very good mattes passes for Star Trek's model.s
