Label reads:" Tyrrell's Estd. 1858 Hunter River CABERNET PORT Vintage 1977 Made from Cabernet grapes picked late in Vintage from our Pokolbin vineyards. It was fortified to 20.5% alcohol by volume on skins in the traditional Portuguese method using only selected 5 year old Brandy Spirit. The wine is slightly lighter and softer than in the past two years and is close in stlye to the 1974 vintage. The 1987 Vintage is considered one of the "great vintages" for both Red and White wines including this 1987 Chardonnay. Grapes of optimum quality together with fermentation and storage in new French oak hogsheads for ten months have produced a well balanced flavoursome Chardonnay with a crisp finish. Label reads:" HOCK This light, soft wine, refreshingly and well balanced was made from Hunter River Riesling grapes grown on the high slopesof the Barossa Valley. It was made at Chateau Leonay and underwent a controlled cool fermentation. It was made and then matured under cool conditions in our cellars. We suggest this wine be served with almost any food but preferably with light dishes such as seafoods, poultry and salads. In summer it makes an ideal drink at anytime, with or without sodawater, and is most acceptable as a pre-dinner drink on hot evenings. Sevre well chilled but not too cold."

Brisbane, 1974 The White Wines of the 1974 Vintage are light and delicate They show strong varietal flavour, high acid palate and a soft finish. These wines are typical of those made in the wet cloudy years that we occasionally experience in the Hunter Valley. These conditions produce wines that will live for many years in bottle such as the great Whites of 1963 and 1967. This wine was made from Semillon grapes grown on the old vineyard of our Short Flat. The wine was fermented cold in an old German Oak cask to preserve its rich fruity charater, green gold colour and full acid palate. Settled in 1829 near Rockley New South Wales, Bunnamagoo was one of the first land grants west of the Blue Mountains. The Vineyard is nestled in rolling hills overlooked by the historic homestead. At Bunnamagoo the cool climate and high altitude interact with deep volcanic soils to produce low-yeilding vines with intensely flavoured fruit. This delightful wine was made by Jon Reynolds in small batches from premium hand picked grapes. It was matured for 18 months in a combination of old and new French oak barriques. Delicious now, this wine will continue to improve for years to come.
