Label reads: Bin No. 142 CLARET Vintage 1971 This light, Bordeaux style Table Wine was carefully made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz (Hermitage) in South Australia. Aged in small oak vats, the influence of the Cabernet Sauvignon aged in small wood is noticeable in the bouquet, the Shiraz having a mellow influence, rounding off the wine on the palate. Label reads: "Lindemans private bin. Bin 36 Porphyry. Vintage 1975. This wine was prodiced from specially selected grape varieties grown in some of the premium wine producing areas of Australia. It was vintaged in 1975 and matured in oak casks prior to bottling. Bin 36 is a rich, luscious Sauternes with strong grapey bouquet and flavour, and a clean dry finish on the palate. This wine was made from selected white grape varieties grown in the Corowa/Rutherglen district of southern Australia and the Pokolbin vineyards of the Hunter River Valley, N.S.W. It has been matured in small oak casks in a solera commenced in 1940, and is very similar in style to the wines from the Island of Madeira.
