I saw this sign and immediately wanted it. I see one person, striving for peace and tried to get their point across by doing something as simple as etching two lines on a street sign.
This set of images was done for my Uni project called 'Visual Poetry'. All of these photographs are taken in Swindon Town in a part of the landscape concentrating on different parts. My intentions for these images were to create and capture the emotions and atmosphere we feel when travelling through the landscape, the knowing and not knowing. I want the my audience to feel what they feel if they were in these enviroments the things we notice about the enviroment.

VISUAL LIBRARIES - Leave your Mark.
A collaborative, visual project which encourages you to sign out a Visual Library Book and ‘Leave Your Mark’.
A Visual Library Book is whatever you want it to be, a sketchbook, a journal, a diary, a notepad.
You can ‘Leave Your Mark’ in whatever way you want, ranging from drawing, writing, sewing, adding photographs, markings, printing and sticking. How you make your marks is entirely up to you. All we ask is that you have fun with the different themes.
45 Visual Library Books have been placed in Portsmouth Central Library and each has its own theme ranging from; Portsmouth, My City, When I Open My Eyes, Whilst I Was Waiting, Love, What’s in My Pocket and Memories. The intention is for you to feel free to explore the Visual Library Books and choose a theme that you like.

Stuck in a group for four hours knowing before that I didn't want to go, but I went. Fortunately, I had my camera bag which I didn't feel comfortable leaving in the car, so I tried to discreetly take photos while chit chat was happening. I turned and looked behind me through the second story window's Venetian blinds at the sheet of rain outside and captured the essence of my day.
I am using slide film to explore the phrase 'visual poetry'. The is part of my Final Major Project for Art Foundation. I am hoping to use these images for a slide installation as my final outcome.
Darker photo, skull coloring is not accurate, but detail and lines of the graphite portion are more clear and crisp.

La mostra, aperta al pubblico, presenta i lavori degli studenti del corso magistrale di Visual and Innovation Design, sviluppati nell’ambito di Tracks of Freedom 2024, un’esperienza internazionale di ricerca e progettazione organizzata e promossa ogni anno da RUFA per permettere ai giovani designer di confrontarsi con professionisti e realtà d’eccellenza. Ogni anno gli studenti volano nella Grande Mela, New York, dove hanno l’opportunità di incontrare alcuni tra gli studi di design e i professionisti più influenti a livello internazionale, immergendosi in un contesto di eccellenza e ispirazione. Le opere esposte esplorano il tema della Libertà, interpretato attraverso una prospettiva sinestetica e un approccio multidisciplinare.
All’interno di questo percorso formativo, gli studenti hanno avuto l’opportunità di presentare il proprio lavoro nella prestigiosa MFA SVA Design, un contesto di eccellenza internazionale, alla presenza di designer d’eccezione come Lita Talarico, Steven Heller, Lorenzo Fanton e Jonathan Wayskol. Un’esperienza immersiva nel cuore della vibrante New York, simbolo di libertà e crocevia culturale unico al mondo. Un viaggio di 9 giorni tra ricerca, studio e progettazione, che ha visto i partecipanti coinvolti in talk, studio visit e approfondimenti sociali e culturali, all’interno di un ambiente professionale stimolante e ricco di ispirazione.
Il progetto espositivo nasce proprio da questa esperienza, trasformando il lavoro di ricerca in una narrazione visiva che cattura il dinamismo e la forza simbolica di New York.
La brand identity, la motion graphic, l’interaction design, la fotografia e il video diventano strumenti per esplorare e rappresentare il concetto di libertà attraverso ibridazioni, convergenze e sperimentazioni. L’esperienza, avvenuta a maggio 2024, è stata guidata dai docenti e designer Mario Rullo ed Emanuele Cappelli, insieme al Direttore Accademico, l’Arch. Fabio Mongelli.
Tra gli studi visitati, spiccano Pentagram, sotto la guida della partner Giorgia Lupi, con un incontro speciale con Paula Scher, una delle graphic designer più influenti al mondo; la Lubalin Foundation; Order Studio; Salotto Studio, dove gli studenti hanno avuto modo di approfondire case study con Giulia Zoavo, Vittorio Perotti, Lorenzo Fanton e l’illustratore Emiliano Ponzi; e ancora The Working Assembly, Studio Gretel, oltre a incontri con designer italiani attivi da anni a New York come Matteo Bologna e Daniele Politini.

Was just having fun here after I thought that this angle was quite cool. Originally what I wanted to achieve with the image was to up the brightness a bit but after playing around with the levels and colour curves, I thought, "bleh, let's be artsy".
