The Hoe, Plymouth, Devon .
Over the last few days Smeaton's tower has once again been light blue as a tribute to the ongoing work of the nhs. As I found myself on the Hoe one evening I thought it only fitting that I captured the moment. I took a few shots in different compositions, but I think this was my favourite of them.
Dawlish warren .
At the mouth of the Exe estuary is Dawlish warren a sand spit protecting the estuary from the sea . Dawlish warren is a large nature reserve with plenty of sand dunes and has beaches on both the seaward side and the estuary side . In the back ground is Langstone rock otherwise known as Red rock and in the far distance is the Parson and the Clerk a sea arch and sea stack .

The Hoe, Plymouth, Devon

I've had this composition in mind for a while. I wanted to capture a sunset over the Hoe using Maderia Road as leading line into the image. I decided the best way to accomplish this would be from a higher vantage point. So I found this area overlooking my scene. I rather liked how the foreground greenery added weight to this corner of the photo and helped balance it. Once I had my composition decided I waited for the sun to reach the horizon and snapped this image.

With the change in the weather it feels as though summer has descended into Autumn. I took this image on the Hoe as the sun disappeared below the horizon, and the what felt like the last rays of the warm evening sun fell on Plymouth Hoe. I already miss the warm summer evenings, but also anticipate the cold crisp foggy mornings, and the riot of colour of Autumn
Found this little waterfall in the stream on the Bovey Valley walk near Hisley Bridge on Dartmoor. Some nice autumn colours left still.

Lynton and Lynmouth
"Beloved by some of the great romantic poets, Lynton and Lynmouth sit on the northern coast of Devon, where Exmoor meets the sea. The two towns are twinned and are separated by steep hillsides and deep wooded valleys. Lynmouth sits at sea level, while Lynton sits higher up. Both towns are quaint and full of narrow lanes, independent shops and incredible views, like Valley of Rocks which sits just outside their centres and forms some of Exmoor's most beautiful scenery. "

A summer time image of Plymouth Hoe and a wildflower bank in full bloom. Sat on the sloping bank on the Hoe admiring the view I thought how beautiful the uncut bank of wildflower looked. So I grabbed my camera, and composed this shot to inclthe wildflowers in the foreground and Smeatons tower, the iconic landmark of Plymouth, in the background.
