It's making an unholy fuss
Why has it come to visit us?
What nasty, little willful eyes
For anything of such a size.
How uninviting are its claws,
How even more so are its jaws.

Visited a nearby pond hoping to see a heron. No luck with the heron, but this old snapping turtle with a shell the size of a hubcap was resting in the grass. Its skin was riddled with clusters of black, shiny, warty-looking parasites that I have not yet been able to identify.

...across the Trocadero, where the reception took place, including lots of pigeons. They are just everywhere, aren´t they? Impressive!

A lovely Sunday outing to British Wildlife Centre with my friend... coerced into photographing a snake!
My first visit to see these awesome sculptures by Andy Scott at night. Such a cool place to spend a couple of hours mooching. Surprisingly busy at 9.30pm too.....
In an monumental feat of engineering, The Kelpies, two 30 metre high stainless steel sculptures, rose from the ground in 2013, towering over The Helix and the Forth & Clyde canal.
Construction of The Kelpies began on 17th June 2013. The two enormous structures were manufactured and installed by SH Structures Limited.
The build was officially completed on 27th November 2013, and was celebrated with a 'topping-out' ceremony featuring Duke and Baron, the Clydesdale life models for The Kelpies.
The Kelpies by numbers
300 tonnes each
30 metres high
1200 tonnes of steel-reinforced concrete foundations per head
928 unique stainless steel skin-plates
Built on site in 90 days

Quoting visit Norway.com: Helleren - "Hedlaren" - forms a natural roof and shelter that have been taken advantage of by people for thousands of years. Helleren is large - the drop fall measures at its deepest 10 metres. The two houses do not have proper roofing- simply because they are protected by Helleren - and this is also the reason why these two houses and this landscape provide a unique and special experience. Both houses date back from the 1800s, however large parts of the buildings might be considerably older. Most probably, there has been settlements under Helleren from the 1500s.

The weather was perfect and the wildlife was very active. The most animals I have ever seen in this area.
My childhood favorite ruin to visit every time I return to Italia I always come back. Poseidonia (In Ancient Greek: Ποσειδωνία), was one of Magna Gracea greatest, and one of the most impressive settlement, amazingly preserve in its true original beauty. In view are two of three Doric Column Temples, they are the 1st and 2nd Temples of Hera
City remained prosperous during the early years of the Roman Empire; than called Paestum. But the city eventually was abandoned and remained unknown due to silting up of the mouth of the Silarus River, Some say due to the eruption of Vesuvius, for the est. time of abandonment and eruption fall in line. This silting eventually created a malarial infested swamp and the city remained unknown and buried under silt until the 1800s.
The magnificence of this city is the level of preservation from the city's entire defensive walls & gates of Greek origin are still fully intact to three beautiful temples, and a theater
One more bonus, it's quite off the beaten path of Tourist, That makes it even more enjoyable.
------
This was really a surprise. I really thought that my picture of the 120 143-3 in Bonn Dransdorf would be the last one that I could make of a loco of this class.
However, on the 22th of September 2021, DB Systemtechnik decided to send a measurement train in our direction, so we got this one as last picture in Unkel.
We already had decided by that time that we would make a short visit to the high speed line from Köln to Frankfurt. Both the rainbow as the Europe ICE 3 were foreseen to pass here in the afternoon.
