The Council of Visions - Guardians of the Earth are gatherings that happen in Mexico and other places of Ibero America since 1991. Rescuing traditions from ancestral times where tribes from the four directions used to meet to share knowledge, prayers and stories, the Council of Visions gather beings of different latitudes, genres, religions, ethnicities, beliefs, ages and nationalities to create a temporal eco-village of Peace based in the cooperation, creativity, diversity, tolerance, social justice, health, welfare and respect towards all kinds of life.
Environmental educators and activists, experimental artists, diverse healers and social entrepreneurs share the different complementary visions to try to build an inclusive proposal, applicable locally, regionally and planetary, of a spiritual, social and environmentally sustainable future that generates a change in awareness and attitude of human beings towards Mother Earth, the original cultures, the elements and all living beings.

Here's one of my first photos of our new girl, Abby. She's 14 months old, and tends to want to put everything in her mouth, including all of our shoes...so far she's left the presents alone, but is also not left alone unsupervised with the tree - I can just imagine coming home to find everything unwrapped! She certainly likes to lay under the tree with her head wedged against whatever's available.

TALLER: B-A (EL SENTIDO INVERSO). ITZIAR OKARIZ
B-A (el sentido inverso) es un taller que se propone como una reflexión sobre la performance, en su especificidad y en relación a los límites que la definen. La reflexión se ampliará también a la noción del “oficio de artista”, a la práctica del arte. El taller se centrará en ejercicios prácticos, tratando, por un lado, el cuerpo como signo y, por otro, el valor posicional del lenguaje y su dimensión performativa. En esta última línea se prestará especial atención al lenguaje en su cualidad plástica tanto en el texto como en la locución; la encarnación de las palabras. En el taller se trabajará la voz, la manipulación de objetos, el movimiento en el espacio y la relación con la audiencia (el público). Se analizará también el carácter performativo de la voz, el tono y la transformación del significado en su modulación.
Se trabajará a partir de performances abiertas de la artista, aún en proceso y que impliquen una dificultad en su formalización, que se resistan, así como a partir del trabajo o de las propuestas de los participantes. Paralelamente, se propondrá el visionado y lectura de materiales adicionales que contextualicen las cuestiones tratadas a través del trabajo de diferentes artistas, escritores y poetas.
