VISIONS Graduation Celebration

Great DIY stereo vision. One of the better implementations I've seen. Now if only I'd brought a stereo camera to capture the stereo picture on screen, then you could have seen for yourself. Or errm, that seems too complicated. How about: 'if you didn't see it, it was cool' ;-=)

Este cuadro refleja la naturaleza respetada por el hombre, frente a la crítica de su destrucción. Se ha querido representar la forma en que las matemáticas se hacen presentes en la naturaleza, donde es común encontrar patrones fascinantes que rigen su funcionamiento. Estos patrones matemáticos se hacen visibles desde la vida microscópica (por ejemplo, en nuestras células oculares) hasta los eventos de magnitud macroscópica (podemos encontrar patrones fractales en ríos, bosques o montañas).

La composición de la obra está basada en la Regla de los Tercios, una regla matemática relacionada con la Proporción Áurea, que permite dotar al dibujo de armonía y atracción respecto al centro de interés. Se han empleado los tercios superiores para la ceja, realizada siguiendo el patrón de la sucesión de Fibonacci. Los tercios medios e inferiores se destinan al ojo, el cual en su pupila refleja una noche estrellada con la inclusión de turbulencias similares a las que pintaba Van Gogh en sus obras. Las pestañas se han dibujado siguiendo el esquema de la Sucesión de Fibonacci (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21,…) de manera repetida en diferentes posiciones para crear varias capas entre ellas.
