I long for the days of crisp air and leaves
melding into golden fiery hues,
drifting like a molten tide to crunch underfoot on a well worn path.
Sighing for the scent of rich autumn spices,
the warmth of a soft cardigan,
and days that bring the sunset to life.
Instead I settle for daydreaming
with my pumpkin spice latte on the table in front of me,
and try to ignore the palm trees waving in the desert wind.

On February 21st I celebrated my one year anniversary on Flickr and at around the same time hit the 1K follower mark. Not going to lie this has led to a lot of introspection, but I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you.
In the beginning there was a bakery . This was my first upload as Lavender. The snap was taken at Winterset Hollow and in the absence of a Frogmore sim I've chosen instead to hang about in Sainte Rose Sur Mer. I don't remember much about the place but I'm sure it was a collaboration between Terry and Tolla . The place wasn't just beautiful, it introduced me to the idea that landscape photography in Second Life was a thing.
After that it was a hop, skip and a jump onto Flickr and the rabbit hole that all of you beautiful, creative people make. I am constantly inspired and driven to learn more because of you. More than that, my first life creative work is energised by this and I'm just so grateful for all of you. Thankyou all so much, may The Muses be with you <3

The title is a line from the poem 'The Bridge' by Edward Thomas. Made at LEA8 in Second Life. It was always evocative, but somehow has so much more meaning after this year.
