Welcome back to my Xmascellany, enjoy more footprints in the snow as I aimlessly wander through Second Life, away from the madness of lockdowns and social-distancing, I suppose you could call this, virtual-distancing.

I have a longer Novoking video showing sandboxes and things at www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkxt81TIyvo for anyone interested.

We don't hide crazy, we parade it down the street!

Me in my personal room in IMVU, wearing what could quite possibly be the most casual outfit in my inventory ever.

Where do they drift?

What do they see?

Why do you stare so?

Night eyes...

Please, ignore the piece of corn on the picnic table behind him. :P

Snapped a pic of Fig while we were hanging around. Just liked the look of this and didn't notice the corn until after I took it.

There's a vision in the sands

Rising from the ancient past

Crying let my spirit go

Lead my burning soul to rest

Hear the sound of distant ages

It's the call of the seventh star..,

Our students Chantelle and Nisreen at the Master of Arts in Digital Technologies for Language Teaching collaboratively reflect on their experience on doing activities on an online Virtual World. Read their thoughts:

When we entered Small worlds, we had a lot of questions about its nature and application as an educational tool in language classrooms. In the beginning we were confused with the so many avatars appearing and disappearing, and then we got engaged creating our own avatars. Our 3D lifelike avatars were reflecting our own identities, their looks, style; even the nicknames were very similar to us in real world.

During the session, we were thinking about our students all the time, about the affordances and shortcomings of Small Worlds. We started realizing how the anonymity related to avatars could really help reluctant students to reduce their language related anxiety. Although there is no opportunity for expressing emotions and reactions properly, yet there is some sense of real immersion and tempting engagement in these worlds. Moreover, Small Worlds can be effective in creating a community of people sharing ideas collaboratively. As for us as students in Small Worlds, we were relaxed, happy, and most importantly did not feel the time. It was so real and engaging!

This is the table and chairs used at the SLED (Second Life Educators) discussion on virtual worlds. As people arrived, more chairs would automatically form so there was always one empty chair for the next person. Very cool, though the group became kind of large for that table. Oh, and great discussion!

I've known Grease for a long time. I met him at Divaz back in the early days. He is a furry in Second Life who likes girls! LOL!

We always run into each other at clubs, parties and events around the grid. I see him at Organica, Rain's, Max Kleene shows, every party and even the ballrooms!

One night we were all hanging out and Takamura Keiko, owner of Keiko's Cafe showed up at Organica getting down with DJ Qee psy music. Everyone shows up at Organica!

And Grease... he's the ultimate host with the furry-most! Keep it Greasy!

Second Life holiday parties was an incredible mix of trance, dnb, electronica, dark psy, goa, minimal, proggy, acid, experimental, industrial, noize, tribal, jazz, live music, country, blues, reggae, salsa, classical, opera, and Christmas music. I heard it all and then some.

I love music of all kinds. If it's good, it's worth listening to, so don't start with the nose-up-in-the-air over your favorite genre. Believe me... good music will always find an audience. An audience of sophisticated listeners will stop to listen to any good sound... even if it isn't part of your normal repertoire.

What is amazing is that dj's and musicians around the world know this, and they borrow from all genres to create their own personal sounds.

Here in Second Life, we get the results from around the world. World music mixes with the trendy sounds of the day, and we get the sounds that we love so much.

I want to thank all the dj's, musicians, club owners and event makers in SL. You guys made a holiday scene like no other. APPLAUSE & BRAVO ::::

Special thanks to you <3:
