Visuland: www.visuland.com/
"Visuland is a virtual world with real voice communication, YouTube
video canvas, games and presentation tools. You can meet with people,
talk with them while showing a video, or your photo gallery or keep a
power point presentation. You can even learn languages by talking
people of the choosen language with real voice in a virtual pub."
Sounds wonderful, doesn't? Gorgeous virtual world, web browser-based,
suitable for social or professional meetings. Hmmmm. Next piece - what
is the tech like?
"Beside the rich functionality (real voice chat, showing videos,
photos, presentation tools, games) there is no need of long
downloading, installation or registration. Just a click to "Run", and
in a few seconds You're there to talk, play games and make friends."
Sounds great, so I try it out. Register. It insists on my gender. OK,
fine, be that way. I'm used to Second Life where I can be anything.
Then I do what they say, click to run, choose a location, and away I
go! Right? Wrong.

My computer and Firefox have a ..., well, let's call it a cautious
truce most of the time. Installing extensions is like crossing the
neutral zone. Not pretty. It still sounds really really interesting,
so how about YOU check it out and tell me what you think!
