The violet tree is a very flowering shrub, which easily reaches the arboreal size, between 3 to 6 meters in height. Its branches are very branched, which makes it suitable for the formation of hedges.

The long and somewhat pendulous inflorescences contain numerous flowers that can be purple, blue or white in color. Violet tree is an excellent plant for topiary, especially for beginners, as it grows quickly. After flowering, which is intense in spring and summer, it produces spherical, small and yellow fruits, much appreciated by birds.

** I decided to have fun with double exposure ;)

In fact the lawn is full of them in this unnaturally mild winter, and our first clump of snowdrops is almost finished. Beautiful but worrying!

Every year I celebrate the return of favorite flowers. Hooray for Hydrangea blossoms. They resemble Nature's own M. C. Escher works of art. "Choose only one master—nature."....Rembrant

“But I look up above and see the sky

With the moon and stars capturing my eye

I know that you can see it too

Cuz no matter where you are the sky remains true”

For a Peaceful Friday!

Violet-capped Woodnymphs are hummingbirds that inhabit a wide range of habitats from untouched forests, to scrub, to suburban and city gardens. They gather nectar from both native and non-native flowers and also hunt for insects. During certain parts of the year, Violet-capped Woodnymphs migrate short distances. Males have a bluish violet cap and sparkle with dark green above and gold-green below. Females are dark greenish above and off-white below. During the breeding season, these woodnymphs adorn the outside of their nests with ferns and lichen.
