Sunset at Normandy

El Polin Spring, Presidio, San Francisco, CA

For a Peaceful Bokeh Wednesday! Violet-capped Woodnymphs inhabit a wide range of habitats from untouched forests, to scrub, to suburban and city gardens. They gather nectar from both native and non-native flowers and also hunt for insects. During certain parts of the year, Violet-capped Woodnymphs migrate short distances. Males have a bluish violet cap and sparkle with dark green above and gold-green below. Females are dark greenish above and off-white below. During the breeding season, these woodnymphs adorn the outside of their nests with ferns and lichen.

In fact the lawn is full of them in this unnaturally mild winter, and our first clump of snowdrops is almost finished. Beautiful but worrying!

I have been kept busy with Nina being home for 2 weeks(school holidays).

Also not that easy to share the computer any more.

Be well.

I planted colorful Anemones ranging from dark purple to coral red and whites the colours are beautifully displayed in the new flowerbed I made last Autumn,

I had bad luck with the squirrels as the ate most of them,

I need to protect them better with mulch and perhaps planting some daffodils amongst them to deter those pesky critters,

Every year I celebrate the return of favorite flowers. Hooray for Hydrangea blossoms. They resemble Nature's own M. C. Escher works of art. "Choose only one master—nature."....Rembrant

While working on shooting swallow flights, this one landed right in front of me at Koll business center. Closest I've been to one of these violet green swallows.
