It was late at night, at the end of another Saturday night demonstration in Jerusalem.

The policemen were evacuating the last young and enthusiastic protestors (this time without any violence).

She sat at the main junction were the demonstration took place; probably a bit tired.

Many argue these demonstrations are 'the best show in town'; I tend to agree. A photographer can return from them with a cam full of photos.

I can't recall any other 'photographic workshop' in Israel, in which I took so many photos :- )

Will the demonstrations have any effect?

This is the million Dollars question, no one knows to answer.

At least they are a great fun :- )

It's hard to think of a crime Trump hasn't committed at this point.

Join the March For Our Lives protest tomorrow if you live in America-you can look up to see if they are protesting gun violence in a city near you:

As graceful as the eagle makes it look from a distance, it is pure violence from the fish's point of view ...

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

"Whoever wants to harvest power will sow violence"

This has been going on for centuries and is observable until today. Usually caused by someone who is rarely able to look his victim in the eye.

-----------------------

"Wer Macht ernten will sät Gewalt"

Das ist über Jahrhunderte zu beobachten, bis heute. Meist verursacht von jemandem, der seinem Opfer selten in die Augen zu schauen vermag.

This year, on the day dedicated to eradicating violence against women, our town had a public bench painted red.

Non solo contro le donne !

Not only against women !

And no real reason to reload at all.

The two times I've been to Mono Lake, I've always been to the South Tufa area. And of those two times I've been, it has always been clear skies. Finally on my third visit to Mono Lake we visited a lesser known area and the sky delivered.

While heading towards the Sierras the clouds were getting darker and I wasn't sure if the light would happen. Upon arriving at the lake the sky was very grey and moody, but I still wasn't sure if there was a break in the clouds.

Suddenly behind the mountains We saw a slight glow of light appear and this was the beginning of the amazing light show at an unique location.

The knotted gun ”Non-Violence” (based upon a Colt Python 357 Magnum revolver) was originally created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Rueterswärd as a memorial tribute to John Lennon after he was shot and killed in New York City in December

1980.

I shot this many times with several different water patterns and light directions. The end result is so busy it's almost uncomfortable to look at at.

La vera forza in un uomo verso la donna è solo una il rispetto .

The real strength in a man towards a woman is only respect.

Violence

The feel of the blade in my hand

Violence! Violence!

The power to kill so many men

Violence! Violence!

Picking my victims and taking revenge

Violence! Violence!

The voices are calling inside my head

Violence! Violence!

Slicing your jugular, skaling your skin

Violence! Violence!

won't let up, until you are dead

Violence! Violence!

Not the nicest way to start a new year, but I find it best to follow creative urges when they arise, feeling Sinematic here. " From a woman's point of view."

Violence won several prestigious thoroughbred races before he was injured and retired for studding. He looks pretty content.

Domestic violence is not solely defined by something of a physical nature alone, it can be verbal too. Sadly some people endure this violence and pain regardless of age and gender. Sometimes, people who experience domestic violence don’t even realize that they are in an abusive relationship. No one deserves to be treated badly in any way. Keep an eye out for others. You never know what people are going through. Some people may hide it very well, mainly out of fear. But they need your help.

This image tries to embody the emotions prevalent in the most part by woman in abusive relationships

Who would eat a donut using a dessert fork?!

I saw this when I was walking on the side of an apartment building.. There has been a lot of violence going on this year and this caught my eye! I liked the hand next to the pot giving the peace sign! ; )

There had been police crime scene tape around a pole near this building.

Peace to all! ; )

IMPORTANT: TO AVOID MISCONCEPTION CHECK THE STATEMENT BELOW:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is not a specific anti-videogames statement nor a violence-glorifying picture - and it's by no means a suicide portrait. It's more about certain aspects of virtuality and reality getting mixed in a bad way. The picture should draw attention to the complexity of videogames with their potential harmful (media violence, videogames addiction etc) and their potential beneficial effects (entertainment, escapism etc.).

As with any of my pictures: Please contact me if you want to use this photo. Just send me a flickr message. Usally no big deal, just a question of money ; ] Serious: this picture is too easy exploited for several purposes - and I'de like to deicide whether I approve of the purpose or not.

I know, this is not the perfect setup. If you think about it, does domestic violence ever have a perfect setup?

In the white corner there is multiple me, flying through the air after a right sting to the jaw, in the red corner, wearing the pajama bottoms is my other multiple me, shouting out the word of the victors. Hope you enjoy it.

Anyway, the idea came to me and so I needed a good landing platform.

I’m not sure why they were fighting. Like all photographs of a moment like this it invites speculation. People fill in the story based on their experience, world view and sadly prejudices too. The reality is that reasons are often complex. Even if you had to ask the participants, you would perhaps get superficial explanation, but what is the real underlying cause. Why resort to fists? I wish people would be more willing to listen to each other and communicate, and focus on preventing a situation from escalating, but there always seem to be a few bloody minded individuals bent on causing someone else physical harm.

I like winter walks by the Beaches. Despite the cold and snow, there is something that compels me come here ever so often in the winter. Maybe it is the strong contrast between the seasons but I could not quite put my finger on it. The pier looked all calm and peaceful here but the smashing waves from Lake Ontario was quite violent. Thanks to the magic of long exposure :P

Have a good week ahead and stay warm :)

Day 168/365

Flickr Lounge: Photographer's Choice

30/100 action shots; 1/10 insects in action

Eastern amberwing dragonflies were present everywhere near the pond, but this one in particular sat near the edge of the plants, in the open, and gave me several good photos. Minutes later I walked back by to find him still there, and so I took a couple more photos and then walked by.

Action caught my attention and I looked over to see a paper wasp landing on my lovely little dragonfly. My first thought was horror that this little beauty had been killed. I saw one of his wings flutter to the ground, discarded as inedible. And then the naturalist side of me kicked in: I could get photos of a wasp making a kill.

Solo sette amministrazioni locali (Veneto, Piemonte, Puglia, Sardegna e Sicilia, Firenze e Pistoia) fanno sapere in modo chiaro e trasparente come stanno utilizzando i fondi.
