Vines Lake is one of many along the Stewart-Cassiar Highway in northern British Columbia, Canada. I really like aptly named Needlepoint Mountain in the background which looks smaller through the drone's wideangle lens. The foreground island is unnamed.

Smile on Saturday and "view the V..."

Today, in our vineyard, there are only branches and leaves on the vine, the grapes are in barrels.

Invasive native

the beautiful trumpet vine

can get out of line.

Dora Meulman

The Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans) is a native plant to the Eastern US and grows wild in the sand dunes all along the Carolina Coast where it is loved and protected. With it's clusters of beautiful trumpet like flowers of red, orange and yellow. The humming birds flock to it and it's a joy to see here at the coast.

Now you would think that you should plant these lovely flowers in your garden, after all it's native to these parts and all things native are good, right... to which I say HELL NO!

It thrives in sand, needs no care spreads by seed and suckers and is so invasive it will bully out all your other pants and trees. It will take over your garden in no time and can climb a tree faster than a squirrel. You might as well plant kudzu and poison ivy too to compete with it.

This is a Wild Grape Vine in my front yard. I chose Red Vines Licorice for my Candy today. The colour red I chose is my favourite one, it's called Puce. It's a combo of red and brown.

Trumpet vine on NE corner of a garage off 2nd Street.

Lawton, OK

A visitor in my garage, Eumorpha vitis, known as the vine sphinx, is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It lives from Argentina north through Central America, the West Indies, and Mexico to southern Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, and Florida. Strays north to Nebraska. The larvae feed on Vitis species (including Vitis vinifera), Cissus species (including Cissus incisa, Cissus pseudosicyoides, Cissus rhombifolia, Cissus sicycoides and Cissus verticillata), Ludwigia decurrens, Ludwigia erecta, Magnolia virginiana and Parthenocissus species. It is a pretty big moth with the wingspan of 85–105 mm. (Wikipedia)

From the door of the garage it flew inside and rested for a while on our bush trimming tool, see below.
