Ville Icône | now I am regretting not bringing more than a wide angle and a fisheye to paris. Temp is great, 5 degrees. better than -16 to -10 for six straight days. Here is a shot of the Iconic Eiffel tower in france taken tonight, just got here and I was thinking it was a good time to get one shot over with since the weather called for it. Dead tired after whole day flying again from tromso and oslo. Will hit the sack now. Hello Paris.

Montreal's "Centro"... dramatically different from Madrid. Much more linear, many more skyscrapers... looked quite impressive from this view from row 40 on KLM's MD-11 flying by..

Located in the center of the old town, the Church of St. Mary Major is the oldest monument in the city. Begun by the Pisans in the 12th century, the church was completed a century later by the Genoese, which explains the mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Its existence is attested from the 13th century, according to a notarial deed passed "sotto la loggia di Santa Maria di Bonifacio" on September 5, 1222. The western facade built in the 13th century is preceded by a loggia covered with a frame. The bell tower dates from the 14th century and partially rests on the medieval apses. From medieval times, date the gutters used to collect rainwater which flowed into the municipal cistern located under the loggia. The current sacristy was fitted out at the beginning of the 17th century with the creation of an access to the choir. During the second quarter of the 18th century, the high altar and the side chapels were completed. In 1756, the corporation of merchants of the city entrusted the construction of the Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel chapel to the sculptor Giulio Martinetti. That of the Sacré-Coeur will be built in 1769. Bonifacio, like Calvi, remained faithful to the Republic of Genoa.

As mentioned previously a real joy of traveling out of town in America is the great number of old vehicles being used on the road. This particular 1961 Cadillac Sedan De Ville had turned up to a classic car gathering get in Ronan. We of course came about this by accident just as it was winding up.
