This black-and-white photograph captures a serene mountain village, with a prominent church tower standing tall amidst lush greenery and rolling hills in the background.

Next to the Trikala-Larisa national road, traversing all the lenth Farkadona;s municipality the lowlands are cut offlow or higher hills making the geomorphology of the landscape interesting.

The interest rises sharply when the passer-by realizes that this is essentially an extensive pasture where livestock farming is done in the most traditional way.

Small or larger removable herds of sheep and goats or cows driven by massive and muscular shepherd's dogs, accompanied by pedestrians or equine shepherds cross the lowlands or climb the aforementioned hills, sometimes overgrown, sometimes parched and sometimes rugged because of their stony texture, giving the latter observer rare images of scenery, though they are all only a few yards off the highway.

Further approaching of an aspiring photographer-recorder of these very idyllic scenes may not be difficult in terms of accessibility but it requires special attention and good… public relations with the shepherds to… mediate for our good intentions to their herd keepers who each other than…. they are good-natured.

St Andrew's Church is a church within a church. It is a partly redundant grade 1 listed Anglican church in the hamlet of Covehithe in the county of Suffolk.

The oldest surrounding fabric of medieval church dates from the 14th century, although most of it is from the 15th century. A newer small church has been built at the west end of the 17th-century church against the tower. Amazing place

..but clear reflections..of a simple village life.

Despite the daily hardships, people in the villages are happy and much more accepting and compassionate towards their environment and all who are in it...

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Περιοχή Κόνιτσας Konitsa’s area

on my blog ΛΟΓΕΙΚΩΝ Logicon

Cercis siliquastrum, Leguminosae, also known as a tree of Judah, or a mammoth or cobweb, is a deciduous tree of the Mediterranean and a native of the Greek flora.

According to the religious tradition, kutsupuya was the tree from which Judas was hanged after treachery.

That is why there is a "pious" superstition not to be planted in gardens

So it is only found free in nature either in bushy or tree-like form.

This fact as well as the washing of His disciples' feet by Jesus Christ is mentioned in the Great Wednesday.

Νομή Nomi

on my blog Λογεικών Logikon

The humble Nomi, our village had the special honor in recent days to receive the visit of a group of 30 black storks migrating to Africa (its scientific name is Ciconia nigra) of a rare species since in our country a maximum of 70 pairs have been recorded.

Their coexistence with the multitude of white egrets of the gray egrets and the rest of the bird fauna of the area gave images unique to our very busy daily life.

After an early start from Haymarket to North Queensferry intent on snapping the Forth Bridge for the first time, I eventually found I had thirty minutes to spare before making my way back to the station for the return train.

So, what better then than head to Rankin's Cafe on Main Street for a cuppa, a slice of carrot cake, and not so shabby a view either?

With the camera held to eye at least a couple of minutes before this one was due, the locals (and it was a full) probably thought it odd behaviour even for a Sassenach, but I did manage what turned out to be a bonus shot where, even more happily, the twinkle lights on the tree were 'in phase' for this frame.

The train is Scotrail's 9.41am Edinburgh Waverley - Glenrothes with Thornton (2K07) in the hands of a class 170 Turbostar.

I can certainly recommend the beer that was on sale at the Buckton Vale Institute (building in background in lower photograph) which has seen many a band contest since its build in 1897/8.
