Shot for Smile on Saturday. I like using anything as a planter - here a lock box with succulents and clay bowl made yrs ago. I did add a filter called sunscreen...

Vases/Flower Pots

DEFINITIONS:

-a VASE is a jar made of glass, porcelain, earthenware, metal... usually higher than it is wide, used chiefly to hold cut flowers or for decoration.

-a FLOWER POT is a container in which flowers and other plants are cultivated and displayed.

Flower pots are made from clay, plastic, metal, wood, stone, or sometimes biodegradable material.

Another image taken at Barr Lake with my good friend Linda. I've posted a similar image but I liked the vignetting on this one the hint of reflections and the lines made by the branches. There's a branch on the left that looks like a snake....it isn't.

Unusual cloud formations provide a visual hood and the reflection completes the frame of this sea view with a disused Victorian factory

Taken a couple of days ago during a macro session at Hunter Botanical Gardens ( Heatherbrae, NSW) with long time friend and fellow flickr member Joe Micallef.

It's been quite some time since Joe and I have headed out for photos thanks mainly due to Covid restrictions and personal reasons.

The photos were a bonus, it was great to catch up and have a chat and a few laughs.

Thanks to anyone that views, comments or adds this or any of my other images to their favorites - much appreciated!

Stay safe and well and all the best for the upcoming Christmas season.

Coffee because parenting is hard. Youghal Apr 23

A truly gloomy day today but the local forest walk was very atmospheric. I didn't need to add any artificial vignette.

Must admit, I took a break from Flickr for a couple of days.

But anyways, this is the Wheel of Brisbane. Taken early in the morning, so that the lights were still on, which I think adds a bit more interest to the otherwise dark scene.

Thanks so much for all your faves and comments guys, really appreciate them! Have a great day!

Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, is a Catholic cathedral located in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It was inaugurated in 1979 in modern style, has conical shape, with 106 meters in diameter, 75 meters in height outside 64 meters internal height and capacity for 20.000 people standing. The beauty of the building, straight and clean lines, due to the torn colored glass walls to the dome.

* I'm grateful for visit, faves and comments of my photo.

The rain stopped and the sun broke through, lighting this spot in the forest in the Lake District... I was secretly hoping a bird might sit on the log for me, to complete the picture, but no such luck!

I like how one of the automated tags that flickr added is 'serene' because that's how it felt.

Thanks for looking :-)

I returned to the part of the city where I first lived as a baby. The light and colour caught my eye. May 23

Converted from colour with vignette

This and the preceding two images were taken a couple of years ago...they’re just snapshots of Alicante, things that caught my eye.

A little touch of vignette and sketch for a wonderful page out of the Audubon bird book!

Happy Sliders Sunday!

Youghal : May 23.

colour and shape (and a dog poking his nose out from under the gate)

my LCA did this for me :)

Vignettes of Cork : Beauty in the Ordinary Jan 23

Inch Stand on the way to Dingle. The yellow lifeguard hut against the brooding sky is what first caught my eye, but as I looked and took the scene in further the hunched figure head down fighting against the wind made me capture this particular frame

Youghal 23 - colour and shape once again catching my eye

June 23. After a brief sojourn with some water and reflection posts I am back to where my heart currently lies, namely vignettes with strong colour and shape. Early morning Cork summer 23

A church in the village of Valensole. It was closed most mornings as I took my morning stroll after my sunrise shoot. On this particular day the door was cracked open so I stuck my nose in. I was delighted to see the sun streaming through the beautiful stained glass windows. I then realised that there was a film shoot in operation. So I captured a few frames and left as unobtrusively as I could.

To me, the most interesting parts of this dragonfly is the color green, and the wonderful eyes. The substrate was not that nice. All in all, I decided to go for an extreme crop and vignette, emphasizing the elements I like about it.

Black and white edit with just a -hint- of vignette.

Inspired by some of Travis Brickle's work. Hope you like it!

Heading toward late afternoon, the sun flashes a wild dogwood on the farm. Thanks for the look and have a great evening.

Early Sunday morning stroll with camera in hand. One of my favourite things to do. Simple pleaseures.
