The viewing platform was constructed to support the outfall. It connects to the foreshore walkway system and provides the public elevated access to the water’s edge and views of Hawke Bay and back to the city.
Thanks to all who take the time to visit and comment on my photo stream....it's greatly appreciated. Also for all of the invitations to join or post my photos into groups!

This is the view from Black Tor, towering above the hills surrounding Meldon reservoir on the North Western edge of Dartmoor National Park.
Part of a circular hike, we used the tor for a bit of rock climbing fun as well as a short rest with some cheesy twists!
For anyone interested, here the link to the full walk on Youtube: youtu.be/r2q-fU5moyk
View on the mountains from surroundings of the Cinque Torri formation :)
The Dolomite Mountains (the Dolomites) are a mountain range in northeastern Italy, part of the Southern Limestone Alps. They are in the regions of Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The Dolomites are mostly made up of exposed rocks – limestones and dolomites and partly – rhyolites. These mountains are characterized by very picturesque terrain caused by their erosion and they are considered one of the most attractive mountain landscapes in the world. A large number of jagged ridges, peaks and rock towers, very steep slopes, cliffs and large vertical rock walls of several hundred meters, deep valleys and karst phenomena create a spectacular landscape. On 26 June 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Widok na góry z okolic formacji skalnej Cinque Torri :)
Dolomity – pasmo górskie w północno-wschodnich Włoszech, część Alp Wschodnich, leżące w regionach Trydent-Górna Adyga i Wenecja Euganejska.

Wonderful views of the old town of Siena, with the magnificent Torre del Mangia towering over the old buildings in the background.
A view from Corcovado where the Jesus statue is located in Rio de Janeiro Brazil
The most popular attraction of Corcovado mountain is the statue and viewing platform at its peak, drawing over 300,000 visitors per year. From the peak's platform the panoramic view includes downtown Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (lake), Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Estádio do Maracanã (Maracanã Stadium), and several of Rio's favelas. Cloud cover is common in Rio and the view from the platform is often obscured. Sunny days are recommended for optimal viewing.
Notable past visitors to the mountain peak include Charles Darwin, Pope Pius XII, Pope John Paul II, Alberto Santos-Dumont, Albert Einstein, Diana, Princess of Wales, and General Sherman, among others. An additional attraction of the mountain is rock climbing. The south face had 54 climbing routes in 1992. The easiest way starts from Park Lage.
Thought a warmer view was needed given the cold conditions here in the USA ... I checked the weather there in Banff right now, and it was just a little warmer there versus here in Maryland ... might be a good place to move given the pretty scenery and warmer temps :))
Canary Wharf seen from near Shadwell Basin. The Thames bends a lot and the towers are on the same side of the river as this viewing point.
Day view of wintry Hakodate from 334 metres high Mount Hakodate. Hakodate is Hokkaido's third-largest city, located at the southern tip of the island. The view from the mountain is more famous by night, but the daytime version is also great.

Lots of dark places out there. Lots of places of light as well! People tend to see the dark much more than the light. Pity. On the other hand, there's no shadow without a light and no light without a shadow...
from a park bluff through numerous filters, across neighborhoods - north to the Financial District and even across the bay. (large view is better)
Happy Sliders Sunday!
View form Trail Ridge Road (highest continuous paved road in the US reaching elevation of 12,183 feet), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Driving on this road is little nerve wrecking, but in the end rewarded by breathtaking scenery. Changing elevation takes you from tree lines to alpine tundra which has very fragile ecosystem. Weather up top is ever changing and highly unpredictable. I will add some more shots next few days as I continue to process them.
Not too far from Chittagong Airport is a nice waterfront strip along the banks of the Karnaphuli River. There were boats and ships moored everywhere but this was one of the few days where the sun didn't shine and it was overcast and very hazy but there was enough colour to lift the mood a little.
