Was experimenting with photographing my pet dog through the view finder of my old konica point and shoot. Interesting effects include the vignetting, and those frames that was used to help you focus. Stuff like that.
Clarity was affected, but I found this viewfinder clearer than the olympus point and shoot that I had, which was even older. Hmm.
Shall experiment more when I have time
Taken with a Canon 20d and a Pentax 55mm f2 manual lens and a short extension tube and an old Kodak Duaflex. I started my through the viewfinder series by just holding the Duaflex and using a standard Canon lens but then I built a contraption to hold the Duaflex and switched lenses to the more appropriate (vintage) setup.
This is a real viewfinder image, through an old Chinese "Seagull" branded medium-format camera pointed at the Hong Kong harbor.
I tried this through the viewfinder thing months ago and then got discouraged and moved on to other artsy endeavors. Lately it has been on my mind so I thought I would try again. The hubby's digital camera may be the problem. It is a sony cybershot. (maybe I just need to read the manual!)
This is an albada viewfinder. The front optic is mirrored, but can also be seen through. A bit like a one way mirror in a police interview room. This allows for an outline of the frame to be reflected whilst being viewed through. Quite a clever system, but not really needed in my opinion and it makes for quite a dim viewfinder when compared to a standard plain glass viewfinder.
Seems not everything I reported as a problem with my 40D has been fixed :( There is a bit of loose felt sort of material in the mirror box thingy that annoying causes a soft edge to the top of my viewfinder, it doesn't effect any photos but it is a pain. Crap weather today so no chance to go out and take any photos!!!

I thought this was creative - a photo of the photgrapher's camera displaying a photo of Ellie and another boy.
The only thing I don't like about it so far is that it doesn't provide a tripod mount. If it does i haven't figured it out!

I like the metal mounting but will require I don’t lose the Allen wrench and now need to carry straight edge screwdriver. I think I like the way it snugs up to the viewfinder and just barely lets me get to the controls.
