Gli aironi rossi, in questi giorni, si trovano ancora presso i laghi e i fiumi dell'Africa equatoriale, a sud del Sahara. Il loro viaggio di ritorno comincerà appena tra quelche giorno e durerà alcune settimane. Dovranno risalire la valle del Nilo e recuperare energia sulle sue sponde prima di affrontare la traversata del "desrto azzurro" costituito dal Mediterraneo e risalire la penisola italica fino alla Laguna di Venezia ..... ..
Ta Prohm (pronunciation: prasat taprohm) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara (in Khmer: រាជវិហារ). Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII:125]:388 as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university.
Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap).

Mespelbrunn Castle is a late-medieval/early-Renaissance moated castle on the territory of the town of Mespelbrunn, between Frankfurt and Würzburg, built in a tributary valley of the Elsava valley, within the Spessart forest. It is a popular tourist attraction and has become a famous Spessart landmark.
The first precursor of Mespelbrunn Castle was a simple house. The owner was Hamann Echter, vizedom of Aschaffenburg, a title which means that he was the representative of the ruling prince, the Archbishop of Mainz Johann von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (de) at the castle and town of Aschaffenburg. On 1 May 1412, Johann gave the site, a forest clearing next to a pond, to Echter, a knight, who constructed a house without fortifications. It was a reward for Echter's services against the Czechs. The Echter family (de) originates from the Odenwald region. Their name presumably means "der die Acht vollstreckt", the executor of the ostracism. In the 15th century the Spessart was a wild and unexploited virgin forest, used as a hideout by bandits and Hussites, who despoiled the regions nearby. Therefore, in 1427 Hamann Echter, the son of the first owner, began to rebuild his father's house to a fortified castle with walls, towers, and a moat using the nearby lake.
In 1957, Mespelbrunn Castle was one of the locations of the German film Das Wirtshaus im Spessart (The Spessart Inn, 1958), based on the novella by Wilhelm Hauff.
Stitched Temple II (also known as the Temple of the Mask) in was built around AD 700 and stands 38 metres high. Like other major temples at Tikal, the summit shrine had three consecutive chambers with the doorways spanned by wooden lintels, only the middle of which was carved. The temple was dedicated to the wife of Jasaw Chan K'awil, although no tomb was found. The queen's portrait was carved into the lintel spanning the doorway of the summit shrine. One of the beams from this lintel is now in the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

Die Brenner-Schnellzüge 286/87, 83/82 sowie 86/287 sind bisher die einzigen Leistungen, bei denen ÖBB Vectrons planmäßig im Reisezugverkehr zum Einsatz kommen. Hierfür sind ausschließlich die 1293 047 bis 051 vorgesehen. Inzwischen ist wohl auch der geschobene Betrieb mit Steuerwagen voraus zugelassen. Allerdings verkehrten die Züge zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt nach wie vor mit "Lok voraus". Am 19. September 2025 konnte ich die 1293.050 vor dem RJ 83 von München HBF nach Bologna Centrale bei Brannenburg im Inntal fotografieren.
The Brenner express trains 286/87, 83/82 and 86/287 are currently the only services on which ÖBB Vectron trains are scheduled for use in passenger services. Only units 1293 047 to 051 are designated for this purpose. In the meantime, push-pull operation with a control car at the front has also been approved. However, at the time of taking these photographs, the trains were still running with the locomotive at the front. On 19 September 2025, I was able to photograph 1293 050 in front of RJ 83 travelling from Munich Central Station to Bologna Centrale near Brannenburg in the Inn Valley.

The Santa Catalina Arch is one of the distinguishable landmarks in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala, located on 5th Avenue North. Built in the 17th century, it originally connected the Santa Catalina convent to a school, allowing the cloistered nuns to pass from one building to the other without going out on the street. A clock on top was added in the era of the Central American Federation, in the 1830s.
The Multinational MRTT Unit (Multinational Multi Role Tanker Transport Unit, MMU) is a NATO flying association under construction to manage the aircraft of the Multinational MRTT Unit (MMU), which has its main location (Main Operating Base). The deployments of the Airbus-A330-MRTT-Fleet in version KC-30M are coordinated by the European Air Transport Command (EATC) in Eindhoven.
The MMF programme is led by the Netherlands. All participating States shall finance the procurement and operation in accordance with their booked flight hours. With ten aircraft there are 11,000 hours per year to distribute, of which the German Luftwaffe has taken over the largest share with 5500 hours. Four of the A330 MRTTs will therefore be stationed at FOB (Forward Operating Base) at Cologne/Bonn Airport. A machine will be available for MedEvac flights around the clock. In addition to Germany, the Netherlands decreases 2000 hours (in succession to its two KDC-10), Belgium 2100 (initially 1000), Luxembourg 1200 (previously 200), and Norway and the Czech Republic each 100 hours.
Eine interessante Leistung gab es am 21. August 2023 zu beobachten. Die erst kürzlich vom italienischen EVU InRail übernommene und bereits in den Farben von railadventure umlackierte 190 311 beförderte den NightJet Testzug von Österreich nach Deutschland. Unter dem Namen Siemens Viaggio Next Level vermarktet, wurden bereits 33 neue 230 km/h schnelle siebenteilige Zuggarnituren von den ÖBB bestellt. Der wieder aufstrebende Nachtzugverkehr soll dadurch auf ein zeitgemäßes Niveau gebracht werden. Ein solcher neuer NightJet besteht aus 7 Wagen, zwei Schlafwagen (WLAmz) mit je 20 Betten in 10 Abteilen, drei Liegewagen (Bcmz) mit je 40 Betten (28 Mini-Suites) und zwei Sitzwagen (1× Bfmpz, 1× ABbmpvz) mit ca. 80 Plätzen. Der Testzug bestand an diesem Tage allerdings nur aus sechs Wagen. Bei der Einfahrt in den Bahnhof München Süd konnte ich die Leistung dokumentieren, die dort dann für einige Zeit Pause machte.
There was an interesting train to observe on August 21, 2023. The 190 311, which had only recently been taken over by Italian RU InRail and had already been repainted in railadventure's colors, carried the NightJet test train from Austria to Germany. Marketed under the name Siemens Viaggio Next Level, 33 new 230 km/h seven-car train sets have already been ordered by ÖBB. The aim is to bring night train services, which are on the rise again, up to a contemporary level. Such a new NightJet consists of 7 coaches, two sleeping cars (WLAmz) with 20 beds each in 10 compartments, three couchette coaches (Bcmz) with 40 beds each (28 mini-suites) and two seating cars (1× Bfmpz, 1× ABbmpvz) with approx. 80 seats. However, the test train only consisted of six carriages on this day. I was able to document the service as it entered Munich South station, where it then paused for a while.
