One of the last photos of the morning taken at Killcare, NSW, Australia. I for the first time ventured out over the rocks and to the headland which wasn't all that easy. After the first set of rocks, I decided to pack my gear up in my bag to allow both hands to help me over the rocks. The worst bit is that there was plenty of black rock to be found. It may as well be oil as it's extremely slippery. Hoping I'll find some time to look through them and see if there's anything worth posting.

The surf was actually quite big this morning and the surfer was catching quite a lot of them so was worth shifting out of slow shutter mode, the camera as well, to try and capture a shot with him.

Didn't have to wait long, got my shot and went home.

* I got an email asking how I got this shot. It was actually one of the quickest to render I've done for a while....yay...

It's only half HDR. While bringing the 3 exposures in for hdr'ing... The images just didn't want to talk that well with each other, the worst of it was the sky. so I did the hdr for the foreground and then bought a tweaked verson on the shortest exposure in for the sky and overlayed it. So the sky ended up being 100 percent not hdr overlayed, just tweaked with raw editor and then adjusted later with some curve adjustment.

The lowkey look of the whole image was also selective curve adjustments.

After I got to this stage and posted it, I felt I was missing something. but it was just the short amount of time it took to edit and post compared to the last couple of..monsters that left me feeling that way hehe.

This time, we were venturing into the dark remains of Yugoslavia's biggest military base. During the Cold War, the isolated Socialist state wanted to demonstrate its military strength with this partly-underground airfield. But by now, this has become a huge, almost forgotten area that still holds invisible threats. As we trespassed, there were several, often bizarre, encounters with the police. Join us and experience forgotten history first-hand in our urbex video: youtu.be/hJob_GyMv8o

Today, Danielle and I decided to venture into downtown Ottawa to see what all the "Freedom Convoy 2022" hubbub was about. We didn't venture close to where all the demonstrations were happening (I still avoid crowds like the plague) and stayed south of Laurier Ave.

Things were quiet (perhaps eerily so) and generally peaceful, save for the constant blaring of horns in the distance. From where we were, it sounded like a horn from a passing freight train, only constant.

We came across this Newfoundland-registered pickup truck-cum-convenience store parked on Metcalfe St. (at the corner of Gloucester) and couldn't help but notice the hundreds (thousands?) of signatures and slogans all over the truck, not a square inch uncovered. The first thing that came to mind was signatures people used to get on plaster casts after breaking an arm or a leg.

My first entry for the ABS Season 1 Finale. This build initially started with the terracotta roof, and then while I was playing around with them some more I thought they made a nice bridge. The scene was inspired by Legopard and Brickvader's excellent Venice creation.

After 4 months trying to balance life things, I finally managed to finish this +8000 piece behemoth of a remake of the iconic Venture Koi as a SHIP, as a way to remember 10+ years since LEGO Universe closed.

If you’ve been following my design notes you’ll notice a lot of the parts I envisioned for it did actually make it to the end, as well as additional greebling, detailing, and interiors that improve on the original at a bigger scale - you can actually insert a minifig to slide down to the pods now!

Stay tuned for more pictures to come in the next few days.

All the photos I took of him were out of focus, and yet the photos I didn't even try on ended up beautifully sharp. Argh!

Venturing out after a heavy rain.

We stopped by to see the young owls on our way home from a Wildlife Refuge and were amazed to see the change that had occurred in just three days. The owlet that is up on the knot is actually the smaller, and both are now stretching their wings. I wish we lived closer, because they may be fledging soon. Even if they leave before we can visit again, this has been an amazing couple of months, and we have been so privileged to have watched the young owls in their early journey through what we hope will be long and successful lives.

God damn you, K-putt. WHY!?

I friggen love The Venture Bros. It's easily one of my top ten shows. So here's some figs from it. (Also my first post of 2017. Hoorah.)

The Monarch! Stormtrooper head with upside down mustache for his trademark eyebrows, and the CMF Queen crown glued into the stud. Geonosian wings, Pharaoh's Quest Anubis torso/legs. He needs the trademark goatee, I know. I plan on sculpting one eventually.

Hank Venture: Young Obi-Wan head, CMF Sailer torso, belt from that Dino theme from back in what, 2012?

Dean Venture: Lone Ranger head, CMF Librarian torso.

Doctor Rusty Venture: Snape head with (badly) painted on glasses and goatee, CMF Janitor torso/legs.

Brock Sampson: CMF Wrestler mullet, Aquaman head, Black torso, Superboy arms, CMF Dino Hunter legs.

I wanted to make Doctor Girlfriend but I don't have the parts to do her justice so, I'll save her for wave two, along with Dr. Orpheus and Col. Hunter Gathers probably.

Let me know what you think!

Bold Venture Park in Darwen features a waterfall formed by the Bold Venture Brook as it enters the northern part of the park. The brook then continues through the park as a series of smaller falls and pools. The largest pool, predating the park's design, forms the centerpiece of the late 19th-century layout and is surrounded by formal gardens.

A joint venture between Toijala's locomotive museum and Swedish based association "Svenska Motorvagnsklubben" who have ordered a four day long excursions around Southern and central Finland on board the type Dm7 dieselrailcar number 4216 which itself is operaited by the association of railway enthusiast of Northern Finland or Porha for short. On the second day, the Swedes on board the 4216 were brought to Haapamäki where they had the chance to have a look at the museum rollingstock of Haapamäki museum locomotive society and also have a cup of coffee on a cafecar. After that the journey commenced towards East and the day should be finished in Mikkeli. 4216 has to be turned on the turntable as it is preferred among drivers that Dm7 are driven by the calm end rather than the noisy end with the engine compartment in it. While passengers are still on board, the 4216 is the turning celebrity on the turntable as the locomotives of HMVY watch.

The Canadian-flagged NORTHERN VENTURE is upbound for Parry Sound.
