"Jail Wagon" class 501 unit (set 501 148) formed of vehicles 61148+70148+75148 is seen at London Broad Street with train 2B80 the 12.14 to Richmond.
In the 1980's The North London 630v DC network (Euston-Watford and Broad Street-Richmond) was in a dire state with run down stations and the old 501 stock used on the lines internally was in dreadful condition with faded filthy seats and a smell all of their own. The "Ambience" not being helped by the fact there were bars on all drop light windows because of restricted clearances in Hampstead Tunnel. Broad Street station has long gone from the railway map closing on 30/06/1986 as have the 501's being consigned to the scrapyards in 1985-86. The routes the 'Jail Wagons' used to ply have in recent years seen a total renaissance as part of the London Overground network with new trains and a turn up and go timetable with many more trains, a stark contrast to the 1970's and 80's.
No doubt heading for Nottingham London Road parcels depot 25078 ambles through Nottingham station with a parcels train, the leading vehicles being Southern Railway PMV’s, 26th June 1976.
Locomotive History
When Derby undertook redesign of the class 25 bodywork in 1963, the building of the batch of locomotives that would become D5223 - D5232 was transferred from Derby to Darlington works. This allowed Derby to retool its production line without causing major interruption to the class 25 delivery schedule. These ten locomotives, including D5228 (25078) were destined for service on the Midland Main Line. D5228 was a local Toton engine for most of its early years until April 1972 when it transferred to Holbeck, moving on to Tinsley six months later in October 1972. Following just over a year allocated to Springs Branch from March 1975 it returned to Toton in May 1976. Its stay at Toton was short as being one of the few class 25’s fitted with a Stone Vapour L4610 steam heating boiler it was of interest to the Scottish Region operating authorities and it moved to Scotland, transferring to Eastfield in October 1976. The next six years were spent in Scotland (allocated to either Eastfield or Haymarket) before its last transfer to Crewe in October 1982. It was withdrawn in September 1985 and stored at Bescot until October 1985 when it moved to Toton. It was moved to Doncaster works in March 1986 and then to Goole Docks in August 1986. During October 1986 the locomotives stored at Goole were sold to Vic Berry, Leicester and 25078 arrived at Leicester at the end of October 1986. It was broken up during April 1987.

While waiting for parts to arrive to my hogwarts I decided to do something wwII related. I didn´t quite feel for making a completely new vehicle so just modding my Sherman was the natural choice.

When we entered Reims we came across the 'Musée Automobile Reims-Champagne'. This attractive car museum was founded by Philippe Charbonneaux (1917-1998), the designer of the R8 and R16. We decided to have a look. What I found inside the building I'll show you later.
But outside on the court yard I found some nice old vehicles too...
Like this rare old French Fire-truck. I don't know if Laffly made their own bodies or if they used one from other truck makers.
The company was specialized in fire-trucks.
Laffly was taken over by Renault in 1952.

Young conscripts were ideal for tank crewing, as pubescents' junior volumes were wholly appropriate for the cramped, unaccommodating interiors of armored fighting machines. Thus, a solution was provided to the over-crowding of orphanages in the Kings' bomb-ravaged cities; dutiful young men and women "graduated" from the orphanage halls and were drafted into the ranks of the mechanized corps.
One such figure was Dominik Krotshad, who by the age of fourteen had become an accomplished tank ace during the Spice Wars. He was killed in action nineteen months later during the campaigns of the rogue Herzogstädte, one week before his birthday. He would have been sixteen years old.

The shape and color of this model was inspired by the Green Earth faction's vehicles in Nintendo's Advance Wars series. Real-life influences are the German A7V and the wrap-around tracks of British Mark tanks, both vehicle types of the Great War.
I love the compactness Nick Dean's shuft, and I wanted a Twee punk equivalent. Also this and this.

One of the most populous armored vehicle in the US Army's arsenal, the M8 is the workhorse of America's mechanized infantry forces, replacing the Vietnam War vintage M113 armored personnel carriers. Developed jointly as part of the larger M7 IFV project, the chassis features similar levels of protection to its larger, more heavily armed brother. The turret is replaced with a CROWS IV emplacement with multiple weapons systems available, allowing a total of 9 dismounts to be carried in the rear, plus the two crew.

The Auburn Automobile Company grew out of the Eckhart Carriage Company, founded in Auburn, Indiana, in 1875 by Charles Eckhart (1841–1915). Eckhart's sons, Frank and Morris, began making automobiles on an experimental basis before entering the business in earnest, absorbing two other local carmakers and moving into a larger plant in 1909. The enterprise was modestly successful until materials shortages during World War I forced the plant to close.
In 1919, the Eckhart brothers sold out to a group of Chicago investors headed by Ralph Austin Bard, who later served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and as Undersecretary of the Navy for President Roosevelt and for President Harry S. Truman. The new owners revived the business but failed to realize their hoped for profits. In 1924, they approached Errett Lobban Cord (1894–1974), a highly successful automobile salesman, with an offer to run the company. Cord countered with an offer to take over completely in what amounted to a leveraged buyout. The Chicago group accepted. Cord aggressively marketed the company's unsold inventory and completed his buyout before the end of 1925.
But styling and engineering failed to overcome the fact that Cord's vehicles were too expensive for the Depression-era market and Cord's stock manipulations that would force him to give up control of his car companies. Under injunction from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to refrain from further violations, Cord sold his shares in his automobile holding company. In 1937, production of Auburns, along with that of Cords and Duesenbergs, ended.
The Citroën Traction Avant is an automobile which was produced by the French manufacturer Citroën from 1934 to 1957.
The Traction Avant, French for "front wheel drive".
The Traction Avant's structure was a welded monocoque (unitized body). Most other cars of the era were based on a separate frame (chassis) onto which the non-structural body ("coachwork") was built. Monocoque construction (also called Unit Body or "Unibody" in the US today) results in a lighter vehicle, and is now used for virtually all car construction, although body-on-frame construction remains suitable for larger vehicles such as trucks.
