I'd titled this as a 1940 Chevrolet Roadster because that was what it was called on the information board in front of the car - and would have been the information provided by the owner to the GRRC for this event. It would seem strange that the owner could get it wrong ...
On researching this further (using the car's registration number), I've found that this car is a "1940 Chevrolet KA Special DeLuxe Convertible Coupé" and sold at Bonhams in September 2008 for £40,000. See www.motorbase.com/auctionlot/by-id/933022579/

The 30/98 was first introduced in 1913 as a fast tourer, capable of winning hillclimbs, which it did comprehensively. This car was one of the outstanding cars of the early 1920s when it was the fastest production car you could buy. The previous owner had this car for a staggering 66 years, and has been with its current [August 2006] owner since 2000. The Vauxhall was also entered for the 2007 Peking to Paris rally.

After the racing success of the A6GCS and the availability of its engineering, Maserati decided to produce a road-going version. The company invested little time and capital on it by relying on existing designs and choosing to outsource all the bodywork. This stunning example was bodied by Zagato and is the only one of its kind in the UK.
Of all the A6G-2000s, the Zagato model was the most fit for racing due to their lightweight construction methods. The body was formed by hand in aluminium and used Perspex windows all around. Total weight of the Zagato Berlinetta was 840kg and each car had remarkable differences both inside and out.
Power came from the six-cylinder engine which was nothing short of a slightly de-tuned version of Maserati's potent Formula 2 power plant.

The TVR Tuscan first emerged in prototype form at the 1998 London Motor Show where over 1,000 people wrote deposit cheques for what was then considered to represent the fastest ever road-going TVR. Production started in 2000 and the car was powered by an all-new TVR-designed straight-six engine named the Speed Six. It's an alloy constructions, multi-valve engine benefited from dry-sump lubrication and produced close to 400bhp in the high spec S version.
As is usual with TVR, its performance was absolutely fabulous with the 60mph dash being despatched in an incredible 3.6 seconds and 100mph taking just eight seconds from a standstill.

The new 2-Eleven is Lotus' ultimate track weapon. Designed with track-day drivers in mind, it is exhibits levels of acceleration, braking and cornering found mostly in race cars, while the rigid aluminium chassis ensures the same sense of security found in the Elise and Exige models. The car uses a supercharged 1,800cc Toyota engine producing over 250bhp in conjunction with its in-house developed launch and traction control systems to get to 60mph in less than four seconds. It utilises race-derived brakes to ensure it stops time after time while being enjoyed on-track. Keeping in line with company founder Colin Chapman's recipe for high performance, the 2-Eleven weighs just 670kg and uses the latest materials to ensure both light weight and strength.
This particular example has been uniquely finished in the evocative colours of the Lotus 25 and is used regularly both on the road and track.

The Le Mans Eight is a faithful and detailed recreation of one of the most evocative cars ever produced - the Bentley Speed Six. It is hand built in Wales by Racing Green Engineering in limited numbers, with a waiting list now stretching until 2018. This car is the most recent one built, being completed in May 2008.

The Lotus Eleven was the most successful of the sports racing cars in the mid 1950s - a sub 500-kilo Colin Chapman-designed space fram car, sporting a beautiful, aerodynamic body; the form of which was designed by aerodynamicist Frank Costin. The Eleven surpassed the earlier Lotus cars both in its competition success and number, with some 270 units produced until 1958.
The Westfield Eleven is based on the pretty 1956 Lotus Eleven Series 2 and can be bought as a kit for home assembly. This car is the first from a series of 50 released by Westfield. The car sports a 1,275cc engine from an MG Midget and was bought in kit form by its owner direct from the factory. The car is 99% finished with just a final coat of the finest British Racing Green paint to finish it off.

The Nimbus is a Danish motorcycle produced from 1919 by Fisker and Nielsen in Denmark, who were also known for manufacturing Nilfisk vacuum cleaners. Many of these machines saw service with the Danish Army, which brough approximately 20% of the total production. The postal service also bought many and used them until 1972, while the police phased out the use of theirs much earlier when they found it was too slow to keep up with modern cars and motorcycles in the late 1950s and early 1960s. After 25 years of manufacture and with over 10,000 examples produced, production of the Nimbus ended in 1959.
