The Alfa Romeo Montreal was introduced as a concept car in 1967 at Expo 67, held in Montreal, Canada. Originally, the concept car was displayed without any model name, but the public took to calling it the Montreal.
This 2+2 coupe uses 200bhp dry sumped 2.5-litre V8 engine and its body is designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone. Just under 4,000 Montreals were produced between 1970 and 1977 when Alfa Romeo stopped production.

As usual the very old St Magnus Cathedral had been chosen to be the backdrop for this popular event.
Just past the tractors - on the other side of Broad Street - are the motorcycles. Meanwhile up on the grassy "Broad Green" the vintage cars - of varying ages are lined-up.

Lotus had previously been using a racing version of their Esprit, competing in the premiere GT1 class against the likes of the McLaren F1 GTR, Venturi 600LM, Ferrari F40 GTE, and others. They decided that in order to remain competitive in the GT1 class, let along be victorious, they would need to produce a new and more up-to-date car. Mechanically, only the Elise's aluminium chassis was retained for the GT1 and a new carbon fibre body that resembled the Elise was constructed, featuring a much longer length in order to increase the car's aerodynamic capabilities.
This car is the ex-Lotus works chassis and uses the turbocharged V8 engine from the Esprit attached to a Hewland six-speed sequential gear box.

In the 70’can be a comrade of mine, Frank, owned an enterprise called Haulmore Manufacturing and had to making flatbed, stake bed, and utility truck bodies for the neighborhood dealers of Nissan, Toyota, Ford, and Chevy small trucks. Furthermore he was having the small trucks and doing body lifts and putting large tires on them. He would insert cloth seats, light bars, grill guards, etc. for them and do elaborate paint jobs on these with flames and designs, etc. Kearny Mesa Toyota was certainly one of his purchasers whom he modified two trucks for every week. Being based quickly of Hwy 163 that they had high-quality experience with the traffic.
Following the interstate department constructed a wall the time whatever the side whatever the freeway you can not spot them as well. Certainly one of the workers asked Frank if he could have a stand, rack, or platform of one kind or another to boost the truck up so you can see them a little distance from freeway. After making a platform and setting it, for the following four weeks the client said, “I drove through freeway and you may really observe the truck situated on the stand. A client came in and said he saw the truck a little distance from road. A client found it, came in and purchased it from the rack. Situated on the fourth week he explained, “You need to be building these racks for everyone.”
Frank following that took a couple of photos of the system and walked to his other clients and showing them the photos said, “Keep two of my trucks on your location and I will loan you along with these platforms.” Toyota of El Cajon said, “Give me 4 and I could keep eight of your respective trucks on your lot.” After if you want to all his clients and establishing the racks Frank thought he had properly handled everyone. After effecting the rack and receiving it developed, for the four weeks after, a prospect told Frank that it also was great with the ability to observe the cars situated on the stand a little distance from road. A client saw the truck a little distance from road and came in and purchased it quickly the stand! After approximately four weeks, this car lot owner told Frank, “you need to be making thses for many dealerships! So Frank took some photos and brought them to be able to his clients. Then at some point in early 1980 I walked into Frank’s company to discover him, and also as I went to the trouble of doing your phone rang and of course the secretary answered and place individual aside and told me to wait, she can be right back. She returned and said no one was there and individual on the phone wanted to learn about the automobile stands. I have not heard all to get rid of them but told her I might check with him. It was actually someone from Intermountain Volkswagen in Salt Lake City, UT. He explained he had seen our vehicle stand whilst in San Diego and wanted some information about them. I talked to him about how exactly they worked and he explained he wanted one so I became his name, address, and phone number. When Frank returned I told him I actually had talked to a person who had called in and he wanted one of the car stands handing him the note. Frank said, “I’ll give you for that”, and I said, “Give me the phone.”
To begin it was actually sluggish as nobody had ever seen these before. I would simply send each dealership a couple of photos whatever the display stands. I found a dealership in Southern California that loved them, but have not heard if they had been likely to perform for him. I told him I might let him use two of those for 30 days. As soon as the trial was over, he could either keep them out and pay to them, or he could just let me know to eliminate them.
Thirty days later I gave him a call and he explained, “I even have good news and bad news. We require both of these and two additional equivalent them.” I said, “OK, what’s the murders?”, and he asked, “Will we do the same thing thing with 4 of those at the new Mitsubishi store. I know they want them, they only want one month to pay.” I said, “Sure, what’s the murders?”
Through the years I have taken hundreds of consumers purchase one to experiment with the automobile platform out and then purchase more. The Chrysler Zone Headquarters in Houston, TX acquired 5 of the automobile display platforms and place them out of view out at vehicle washes. Having best of luck along with them they then purchased seventy additional so we shipped them to be able to a mix of dealers in their zone, some got one, and some two, three, and some four.
