Arriving at The Farmers Place to find the vegetable garden there covered in frost was definitely a lovely surprise . . . these fresh frosty mint leaves reminded me of the sugared lolly version we used to eat as kids!

Of course I had the wrong lens on when this lovely wee Wren flitted across the vegie garden at the mansion - so best to view large.
Like this lovely bird I will be away for a while ( from tomorrow) with limited internet access. So will try to catch up when I get back). Enjoy the cold rainy weather!
I Feel the Earth Move
Carole King
I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around
Ooh, baby, when I see your face
Mellow as the month of May
Oh, darling, I can't stand it
When you look at me that way
Hey, I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around
Ooh, darling, when you're near me
And you tenderly call my name
I know that my emotions
Are something I just can't tame
I just got to have you, baby
Uh, uh, uh
Uh, uh, uh, yeah
I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, a-tumbling down
I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, a-tumbling down
I just a-lose control
Down to my very soul
I get-a hot and cold
All over, all over, all over, all over
I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, a-tumbling down
I feel the Earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, a-tumbling down
A-tumbling down, a-tumbling down
A-tumbling down, tumbling down

This is a photo from my vegetable garden. It show a fennel plant on a rainy day. This particular plant (herb) was about 6 feet tall at the time. The photo was taken in August 2021, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy and stay well.
P.S. This is the busiest time of the year. There are final assignments to mark and my garden to prepare. So far, the spring has been quite wet and planting is way behind. In any case, I am unable to spend as much time on Flickr as I would like until the school year and planting are complete.

PREFACE
"SHADHINOTA is My Cause for the 40th Celebration of BANGLADESH Independence. The land, the mighty rivers and the natural beauty makes Bangladesh a land of unparalleled splendor and magnificence. Bangladesh was liberated after a prolonged war of Independence the declaration of which was given on 26th MARCH 1971. One of the worst genocides Genocide in history took place at the behest of an autocratic regime in the name of Political stability spearheaded by the then Pakistan President Yah ya Khan. After 9 months of Liberation war and the sacrifice of 3 million lives Victory came. In addition to the loss of lives countless others were rendered homeless, the infrastructure including roads and bridges and factories lay in ruins. The people of Bangladesh have shown time and again how resilient they are. After each and every disaster, natural or man-made the people have again stood up and started all over again from scratch.
My Effort here is to pay tribute to the valiant sons of the soil and the ‘die hard’ attitude of a people who can still smile in the face of adversity however great it may be. I plan to make a collage of images that represent the lives of the people of Bangladesh. I encourage you to upload a photo each day till I have a total of 40 images for the Cause SHADHINOTA in the group Frame BANGLADESH"
To be Continued till 26th March 2011

I spent a wonderful day with the Famous Flickr Five+ recently, down at Anglesea and Airyes Inlet along The Great Ocean Road.
Our day began at a fabulous cafe and restaurant called The Farmers Place. Leaving home it was 1˚C and by the time we arrived for the breakfast around 9.00am we were delighted to see a blanket of frost on the ground and in and around the wonderful vegetable patch there.
I photographed this cute ladybug one rainy day slowly making its way among the branches of a giant fennel plant in my vegetable garden. Indeed, ladybugs often congregate and spend the night among the numerous and twisted branches of fennel plants (dill too) for the greater security they offer. For those who may be curious, the bokeh is natural. The photo was taken in August 2021, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy and stay well.
P.S. I have been extremely busy with work lately, and I am slowly catching up on Flickr.
Harvey and this year's biggest pumpkin.
It'll have to stay where it is as I can't lift it (and neither can Harvey).
32 years ago I cut off a slice of a kiwi and put it in a jar with soil. Very quickly I had a pot full of seedlings. I repotted five seedlings and when the kiwi plants were 20 cm. high I planted them along the garden wall. The plants grew very fast, far above the wall, very decorative with large hairy leaves. After pruning we noticed that our cats loved the kiwi branches, they roll around in them and have really great fun. Cats from the neighborhood also regularly come by to kiwi-curl. In the meantime we have chopped 4 kiwi bushes, otherwise we now lived in a kiwi jungle. One plant is enough to meet the cuddle needs of our cats.
Kiwis we have not yet been allowed to harvest, for that to happen we should have nice warm weather well into November.

Here is another shot from my vegetable garden. It shows cabbage butterflies feeding on flowering greens in the late days of summer. I sometimes leave salad greens in the garden so that they flower and attract butterflies and hummingbirds. The photo was taken in August 2019, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy and stay well!
