I chose to use my backpack to display value. Since value is the lightness or darkness, this displays the two extremes side-by-side. Its interesting that with my flash on, the black almost takes a middle grey value.
This countertop in my dorms common area was very interesting, in this picture it looks like a countertop that has tints and shades which is true. At some points of the day some parts of the table change color due to the light coming from outside. Throughout the whole counter you can see the value scale. I think this is interesting because everyone sees the color change differently.
Value is apparent in this picture, as indicated by the monochromatic scale. This is interesting because the value in this piece allows one to see the subject of the picture.
Special people see more than that which is apparent - they feel it.

This photo was taken at a workshop with community leaders in a rural area of South Africa. Particpants posted what they felt were important aspects of leadership. They are also values that libraries hold. So, libraries can be community leaders!
I chose this image because it's very nice. It is valuable to the school because if the school didn't have it, then people won't know what's the name of the school. It might have good contrast too, just saying.
