So I bought a new vacuum cleaner a few years back. It is one of those cool Dyson vortex ones. As I was unpacking the machine, I geeked out on how "futuristic" the design of the pieces were. So, I decided that before I used it I would take some shots of the pieces that I found most fascinating. I augmented the "futuristic" feel of the pieces a bit by adding some background of my screen saver. I also set some of the pieces on top of my lighted mousepad to add more color effects. In some shots I also used my air purifier which is a clear globe and matched up well with the design of the vacuum cleaner pieces. I also did a few overexposed shots as if the cylinder was glowing.
I just got my first Roomba & I already love it. It really is the perfect robot for someone with a dust allergy! The kittens find it very interesting too, and don't seem to be scared of it. This is a first attempt at a Roomba video, I hope to get a better one later. The bit I love most is when Luna decides to stalk off & pauses for a moment to swish her tail so the Roomba will *know* that she's ignoring it.
I just had to post this video of Jet and Marky with the vacuum cleaner. Hard to believe that he is such a scaredy cat.

An abandoned vacuum-cleaner lying in the forest. It has been lying here since summer when supposedly some kids dragged it there and tried to set fire to it. Nearby lies an empty box of matches.

Most people wouldn't think this was a good way to spend a birthday, but I really enjoyed it! First of all, I cooked my porridge, then realised I didn't have a banana to go in it. I left a note for Mike, and cycled off to Coln Stores to get one, and the chap serving knows me, and for some reason said I could have the banana for free. He didn't know it was my birthday, but when I told him, he emphasised that it was free, so I went off with my first birthday gift of the day, and ate it with my porridge and grapes.
I spent all day sorting LEGO and doing the cleaning - including getting all the fluff out of this brush, which had been given to me (along with the Henry) second-hand a while back. I also changed my office around to accomodate the LEGO more easily, so the grandchildren (as well as me) can build models in there on the yellow table. I got a bit side-tracked by looking at some of my mum's old stuff: letters, cards and these account books from 1948 - the year they got married!
Mike cooked the meal this evening, and did all the washing up, so that was a treat. Then I built the LEGO flowers which Bethan gave me for Mother's Day & my birthday. It took me 2 hours! But it was interesting to do, and to see the parts they use for flowers which are standard pieces, and some from other models such as cars, as well as some unique pieces.

So I was vacuuming and decided I needed a break. And there was this clean spot right there, on the floor. So I sat down in it. And then I noticed how my shoes came together, the curvy way they met. Right there, in front of me, on the floor. Then, I don’t know, I was just looking around at the bookshelves and saw this book “A Bend in the River,” and I didn’t think anything about it. You know, you pick a book up then you put it down. So it just came to me that I hadn’t taken a picture of my feet in a long time—at least not intentionally—and I thought I’d take one. That’s when I put the book down on my feet so I could pick up the camera. Now tell me this: when was the last time somebody told you how great art is made?
