Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania owned Virginia and Truckee Railroad (VT) 20 "Tahoe" is sitting inside the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania near Strasburg, PA, on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
According to good sources, VT 20 "Tahoe" was built in 1875 by Burnham, Perry, Williams & Company, (Baldwin Locomotive Works), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a model Prarie 2-6-0, builders number 3687.
The Tahoe was in service on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad for 51 years beginning in 1875. The locomotive was used for most types of service on the railroad. The Tahoe was last used in April 1926; the engine was retired to the Carson City engine house and remained in storage until being re-activated during World War II.
It was sold to Clifford C. Bong Construction Company in August 1942, and was used to build several railroad classification yards for the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the war. After the war, No. 20 was restored at Bong’s Arcadia, California yard. In 1968, the Tahoe was sold to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for preservation and is currently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg Pennsylvania.

The second of a hopefully short and infrequent sequence of "build one, donate two". My excuse this time is that I picked up the second example of the 1000 piece puzzle shortly after acquiring a 1500 piece Guild puzzle of a similar snow scene, which is also in a pink box. At the time I could remember picking up a Guild snow scene, but couldn't remember if it was the same. As it turned out it wasn't the puzzle I was thinking of, but I had an example anyway.
Sorted the pieces into five groups: edges, sky, trees, buildings, and snow.
As usual, started at the top and worked my way down through the puzzle. The sky came first, with the exception of a few pieces within the clouds that were subsequently found in the snow box.
After the sky came the trees, which took the bulk of the time for assembly. Fortunately there are no leaves so these pieces could be divided into three smaller groups: blue background (upper right corner), brown background (hillside on the right), and white background (various) which simplified location.
The trees led down to the roofs of the group of buildings and once these were complete, the remaining snow pieces were used to fill in the lower part of the puzzle. Edge pieces were added as I went along.
Pleased with the overall time taken: sorted the pieces in the morning, built down as far as the buildings in the afternoon, and finished off the following morning. Like the previous Golden Guild puzzle that I built, could have been finished within the day if I hadn't spent a large part of the morning doing other things instead.
Fortunately this example was complete so I didn't have to build the second example to see if that was any more complete, or at least had different pieces missing so one complete puzzle could be made from two.
A short note on the packaging: Numbers 39 and 40 (at least) have this type of artwork, with the more familiar orange box appearing with number 41 and running to at least number 61.
This artwork shows thumbnails of the six images that were produced under this catalogue number on the sides of the box. In alphabetical order, the titles being:

Country Blossoms
Country Garden
Little Lakes Valley
Moat Mountain, NH
Near S. Woodstock, VT
Assuming six images to each catalogue number, and at least sixty-one catalogue numbers, there could be 366 of these puzzles out there. One for each day of a leap year…

No end of Indian biz at Luton this last week, but always good to see a small one. LJ45 VT-CRA arrived a few days ago from Bucharest and now conveniently parked next to the fence :)
