ODC-Perfect vs Imperfect
The Red Maple is so beautiful this year. The best I've seen since moving to Upstate, NY. I think the colours are the epitome of Autumn's elegance!
Week 9's challenge was a good exercise in seeing and not as easy as I expected. :-)

Here is the reflection game I captured during a sunny Montreal morning. A cityscape in such an un-real framed view of the town.
colorful fun at f/095 with the canon 50 mm, the fat & heavy vintage glass-beast!
to you. good luck (and to You).
Seagulls become quite the challenge to the fishermen as they swoop down to steal their bait. Fishermen are patient with these birds and allow them to take a ride along with them
Here, the birds are real. One of them seems to be collecting honey from the flower mural on the wall.
Twice per week, the purse seiners cast their enormous nets to capture large quantities of salmon. This is in stark contrast to the coastal brown bears, (Ursus arctos), who in the best of times, catch one at the time. Cook Inlet, Silver Salmon Creek, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. Conservation status: Least Concern
This gorgeous (and world famous) willow tree is on most photographer's bucket list if they're touring the South Island and it was on mine for my July trip. Then in March I heard the news that some mindless degenerate had attacked the tree with a saw and hacked off the branch that often dipped into the lake. However much of a cliche this shot may have become I was disgusted and equally disappointed that I'd never get my own version of it. I went there anyway to get what I could and this is the result. As far as I'm concerned the tree is still iconic and of course the backdrop that made it famous is still as spectacular as ever. I appreciate the Instagram made this scene both loved and hated around the world but I'd say this to the imbecile that damaged it...go and have a long hard look at yourself in the mirror mate...you've got issues!
The 6.2L V8 in my new Camaro SS doesn't compare to the 4400hp in the ES44 pulling this westbound grain through Coon Rapids today, but it sure will out accelerate most other vehicles on the road! Thanks to Greg Smith for the idea of shooting my new car with a train.
Sirimongkhon Iamthuam (Thailand) wins against Larry Siwu from Indonesia and was crowned UBO Intercontinental Super Welterweight champion.
Union Pacific's Global 2, Illinois to Lathrop, California premium intermodal passes the conglomerate (not to be confused with sandstone) cliffs of Echo Canyon, Utah on Oct. 11, 2024.
Conglomerate is a sedimentary rock, composed of rounded quartz pebbles, cobbles, and boulders surrounded by a matrix of sand and finer material, and cemented with silica, iron oxide, or calcium carbonate. The rock fragments are rounded from being rolled along a stream bed or a beach.
The Echo Canyon formations range in age from 45 to 125 million years old.
Fall colors defy winter in a landscape scene taken a day after a major early snowstorm hit the province..
