Judds VR stands in Whittlesey market place on their route to Peterborough on 14 August 2010. This bus was new to City of Oxford in 1977. Though one fleetname says Emblings, Judds are the registered operator of this service!
Having been for a pint in the Beacon Hotel in Sedgley, I walked back to the main road only to discover this sitting in the back of Crowns car park situated on High St (the A459) on the approach to Sedgley town centre! KTL 26V, an ex Lincolnshire Roadcar MkIII Bristol VR, heavily converted for non-PSV use languishes in an undignified manner amongst wheelie bins.

Novocherkassk Russian built class Sr1 no. 3050 is seen waiting at Kouvola with train P75 the 10.05 Helsinki to Oulu. This service took an indirect cross country route to the north of Finland, first heading east to Kouvola before taking the inland route north up the centre of the country via Pieksämäki and Kuopio taking 8hrs 10mins to reach Oulu on the Gulf of Bothnia. The direct route from Helsinki via Tampere took just over 7hrs back in 1986.
The One-Eleven enjoyed a career as a biz jet as well as an airliner - VR-CCG soldiered on until 2006

The blue-eyed goddess was modeling the gold 45 revolver gold'n'virtue bikini with the famous golden gun/colt 45 revolver from my favorite film--Sergio Leone's and Clint Eastwood's "Fistful of Dollars!"
Combine the shallow-depth-of-field with Sony NEX-6's latest face-tracking auto focus, and you can see how the moving video keeps the model's pretty blue eyes in focus, while blurring the background! The Sony Alpha NEX 6 has much better bokeh than the cameras I have been using! :)
She was tall, thin, fit, toned, defined, and beautiful!

Ten years ago, First still had a handful of Bristol VRs in service in Dorset, albeit mainly on schools work. Here we see former Southern National 1161 (AFJ 768T) at Bridport on such a duty. A few weeks before this photo, First had moved the Weymouth & Bridport operations onto the First Hampshire Ltd licence (appropriately renamed First Hampshire & Dorset Ltd at the same time), so the bus was technically on its third keeper from new: Western National OC, Southern National and FH&D. The FH&D company, of course, started life in 1986 as the arms-length company for Southampton Citybus.
On a completely different topic, I'm very pleased to see that Aviary has had a revamp and the incredibly annoying borders to any text added to pictures has been dropped. Yippee! :-)
Devon General Bristol VR 623 DGR477S on The Strand Torquay. This bus was new to Northern General but had been ordered by Trent. Two apologies one for the photo quality and the second for the date taken. It was a day when the booked open topper on this route was being used for the celebrations of a local sports team.At the time it was one of the last full size buses in use in a minibus dominated fleet.
A Lincs Roadcar series II Bristol VR freshly repainted and seen in newark.This bus was ex Yorkshire Traction.The bus had not even received fleet names when i took this photo.
A bead van sherpa can be seen in the background,thease at one time formed the back bone of Roadcar minibus fleet,as did the VR for there double deck needs.
The VR fleet was replaced by Leyland atlanteans during the mid/late nineties,and the unreliable sherpas had tarnsit engines retro fitted before they were replaced by better merc minbuses and some awful renault dodge's.
Bristol VR DNG233T seen on the roundabout between The Haymarket & Bond Street, near Cabot Circus, Broadmead, this bus has been converted to a static café, known as 'Bearritos'. This bus was with River Link, Dartmouth from 2009 - 2013, but was used for spares from 2011. 16th Feb 2016

VR 2553 is a member of the Dv12 Class of diesel hydraulic locomotives built by Lokomo and Valmet between the years 1963 and 1984. The class eventually numbered 192 locomotives, which are still in service. They are a general purpose locomotive being used for both passenger and freight on non electrified lines and for shunting duties as depicted here at Pori.
