Taal Volcano and Taal Lake

Wow, I was totally surprised and a bit emotional to be back and see this volcano once more. In one of the first year's we visited the Philippines, we climbed on a donkey the beautiful green part, the Binintiang Malaki (Big Leg), one of the dormant parts of Taal Volcano to the volcano lake.

Now, after so many years and totally unexpected we were near the volcano once more.

Unexpected? Yes, we wanted to go to another amusement park, called Enchanted kingdom, but when we got there, it was booked by a big compamy for the whole day (ofcourse, nothing was mentioned of this on the internet, these things happen in the Philippines...), and to have some happy children in the car, we decided to go here, Sky Ranch, with the most magnificent views.

Taal is a very powerful volcano , the whole island is a high-risk area.

Despite the warnings, some families remain settled on the island, earning a living by fishing and farming crops in the rich volcanic soil

It is in Calabarzon on the island Luzon, Philippines

Taal has erupted many times, ands in 2020 was a really big eruption ad and this natural disaster caused many problems.

And now it is so strange and a bit scary to see Taal back in this condition.

Active volcano Bromo - one of the most popular volcanoes in Indonesia. The crater Bromo is much easier to look, than other craters of volcanoes. Together with other calmer volcanoes fumed Bromo is a spectacular sight from the lookout on Mount Penandzhakan.

Bromo is an active volcano in Indonesia, part of the Tenger volcanic complex. Located in the east of Java. It has a height of 2392 meters. Bromo Volcano is a part of the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. The volcano has been in a state of constant activity for the last 20 years, its crater is filled with smoke from active fumaroles.

I may be in the minority but I still love the McLaren MP4-12C. The 12C never had a fighting chance to get the love it deserved as McLaren introduced the 650S only a few months after the 12C's debut. People were so quick to fall in love with the 650S and forget about the 12C that it never had a chance to prove itself. Luckily there are a few around Pittsburgh still including this beautiful Volcano Yellow one that belongs to a friend of mine.

Ollagüe or Ullawi (Aymara: [uˈʎawi]) is a massive andesite stratovolcano in the Andes on the border between Bolivia and Chile, within the Antofagasta Region of Chile and the Potosi Department of Bolivia.

Part of the Central Volcanic Zone of the Andes, its highest summit is 5,868 metres (19,252 ft) above sea level and features a summit crater that opens to the south. The western rim of the summit crater is formed by a compound of lava domes, the youngest of which features a vigorous fumarole that is visible from afar.

Ollagüe is mostly of Pleistocene age. It started developing more than one million years ago, forming the so-called Vinta Loma and Santa Rosa series mostly of andesitic lava flows. A fault bisects the edifice and two large landslides occurred in relation to it. Later two groups of dacitic lava domes formed,

Ch'aska Urqu on the southeastern slope and La Celosa on the northwestern. Another centre named La Poruñita formed at that time on the western foot of the volcano, but it is not clear whether it is part of the main Ollagüe system. Activity at the summit continued during this time, forming the El Azufre sequence.

The Volcano Hummingbird is the second smallest hummingbird in Cost Rica weighing 2.5 gram (.09 ounces) and is less than 3 inches long. This lovely male kept returning to same leaf overlooking his flower bed. I crouched about 2 feet away and he returned several times to pose.

Took a shot of some clouds over the desert but it was not a keeper so decided to play with it and see what could be done, this is the outcome….. Isolated the ground and made some adjustments in Photoshop as well as Topaz restyle. Then isolated the sky in Photoshop and manipulated it using Spherize, Wave and Twirl, then worked in Topaz Restyle, Glow and Texture for the bright spot in the upper right, finished in Photoshop with some minor adjustment in curves and added the border. The tree was a tree branch on the right side of the original photo. Original photo in photostream. Liked the outcome for a Slider Sunday posting………………………… HSS

Hypselodoris krakatoa is a species of sea slug or dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Chromodorididae. The volcano Hypselodoris has a pale brown-white body and a purplish-blue foot. There are black lines and white spots running in lines across its body and dorsum. The gills are a light-brown colour and its rhinophores are orange-white. This species can reach a total length of at least 55 mm. Romblon, Philippines

A beautiful volcano hummingbird near flowers to brighten up your Sunday.

Tara Salt Flat is located at an altitude of 4 300 m within Los Flamencos National Reserve, near the border point where Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina meet. Tara is set on the crater of Vilama Volcano and it has a rich ecosystem that houses several flora and fauna species.

This is not the volcano that is erupting on La Palma nowadays.

This one is the Teneguía Volcano, on the same island.

Not really, but sure looks like a miniature volcano....

The Fishing Cone is a geyser in the West Thumb Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park.

The name Fishing Cone can be traced back to tales told by mountain men of a lake where you could catch a fish then immediately dunk it into a hot spring and cook it on the hook. Park visitors used to be allowed to fish off the cone as well but this activity is now prohibited. Would have been fun and so convenient.

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

A few steps in the village of Yanque explained to me the mystery of the morning clouds.

The Sabancaya volcano (5967 m / 19,577 ft) was in eruption and spewed a thick cloud of ashes that covered the entire horizon.

We feel small in front of the Power of Nature!

Sunrise between volcanoes and lava fields on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. Between 1730 and 1736, violent volcanic eruptions took place again and again in the Timanfaya area, which still shape the area today.

Of course, there are no active volcanoes in Scotland really.

The city of Arequipa is surmounted by 3 volcanoes. On the roofs of Saint Catherine Monastery, we see them very well.

You can see here the Chachani which culminates at the respectable altitude of 6075 m (19,997 ft).

A close-up, silhouette of a 3-D greeting card. The card is a Valentine’s card I gave to my wife this year. It says “I lava you!” on the front. When opened, two volcanoes pop-up each spewing sparks of hearts and being connected by the heart cloud. The starry night sky was simulated with fiery lights (hidden from view) illuminating a sheet of glitter paper from below. The fiery lights also provided the illuminated horizon effect.
