Dashavatara refers to the ten avatars of Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. Vishnu is said to descend in form of an avatar to restore cosmic order. The list of Dashavatara varies across sects and regions. The standard list is: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Balarama and Kalki.

Lord Vishnu is sitting on a throne of multi-headed snake and he seems to be very comfortable there !!! You can see this in Chennakesava temple, Somanathpura near Mysore, Karnataka state, India !!! This is a fine example of Hoysala architecture built in the 13th century !!!

Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is situated in Ananthapura village in Kasargod District, around 6 km from Kumbala, in the Northern Kerala. This is known as the moolasthanam, the origin, of the Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, situated far South.
The temple is built in the middle of a tank.
