Handel Concerti grossi (complete) - Malgoire Columbia Odyssey
Cover design: Henrietta Condak
Cover art: John Alcorn
Collegium Aureum was one of the better period performance practice groups, starting in the 60s. Many listeners prefer the sound of this group to the more astringent string tone of most other such orchestra.
No info given on the cover art, but there is a signature to the lower left. I can't make it out.
Very rare Joy Division 12'' picture interview disk.
Photographs of IC by Robert Ellis.
Printing on B-side reads 'interviewed 1982' which
of course impossible!

Easily the most energetic Festive Overture ever put on record. It simply sparkles.
I believe Arthur Fiedler is a much underrated conductor, due to his choice of career path. He chose Pops, and he was very good at it, but he was also a very gifted interpreter. I've never been disappointed with any of his recordings of classical repertoire, and this is one of his finest albums.
Dmitri Shostakovich: Festive Overture
Sir Arthur Sullivan: Overture di ballo
Aaron Copland: An Outdoor Overture
