204/365: Teacups again, I have a few so they have to earn their keep.

Day 193/365:

I couldn't resist this vintage door key with all its rusty goodness. This fabulous table opposite one of my favourite shops (Follyology) in Holt, Norfolk, was the perfect backdrop.

Another shot from my now trusty iPhone 13 Pro.Edited in Snapseed then one of my textures added.

Day 153/365:

This is one of the peonies from my early birthday bouquet. They have been really beautiful but have now started to lose their petals. I felt it looked a little more interesting with the vintage edit

Day 278/365:

October 2022: A month in 31 pictures

Not really tea, just the dregs from the teapot with a little water added fill the cup. As for sympathy, feel free...

I've taken very few still life images with my iPhone (apart from the spotlight series). Thought I'd attempt this one using the menu from my birthday tea at Luton Hoo. My Canon is redundant for the foreseeable future so I have got to work out a new way of doing things that won't damage my back more than it is already.

Day 263/365:

Crazy Tuesday - Made of Metal

My vintage herb chopper. I've used it before with rosemary and rock salt but this one is a bit different as it's taken with my iPhone. HCT

#85 - 100 x challenge - Lensbaby

Since my flash was still on my camera I thought I'd use it again today and I like to make the most of my props so here is one of the cages from yesterday's pic too. May as well make it a mini series. I did change the lens though, to my Lensbaby Velvet 56

Another one using my hydrangea. Not altogether happy with the spoon handle going in the same direction as the hydrangea stem but didn't really notice it properly until after editing. I may try a slightly different composition another time.

It's almost the weekend so wishing you all a good one. Wee are going away to Norfolk for a few days, internet connection can be sketchy there but I will try to stop by.

Day 360/365:

Definitely Dreaming - Something new - since the photo board is new I decided to add this to DD for this theme. I'm still behind!

This is another of the photo boards I had for Christmas. I just had to use it but had left it quite late in the day so a rushed flat lay that may be a little similar to others that I've done. Ah well, all is fair in a 365.

Lensbaby Trio 28, using the sweet setting...hence the title. For those not familiar with cockney rhyming slang. Rosie lee means tea.

I was doing some gardening today before the rain hits tomorrow. I deadheaded the roses but it seemed a shame to put them in the compost before taking a photo of them. Since they are fading away anyway I decided on a faded vintage edit with a couple of textures (my own).

I used my nifty fifty as a change from all things Lensbaby.

Looking Close on Friday - Words on glass

This is one of my many vintage bottles, one of the larger bottles I have says Not to be taken so I wrote a little tag saying that. Added textures (my own).

#3 - 100 x challenge - Lensbaby

I bought this tiny vintage (1940s) dainty tin from Etsy. Since I can't get out for a rummage for photo props...and let's face it we all need new props from time to time...I've had to resort to looking online. I may have accidentally ordered a new lens today as well. Ooops!

This was taken using my Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni filter. The hearts are from my craft stash.

Smile on Saturday - Balancing Act

Not actually a potting shed as I don't have one but tried to give the appearance of one.

I picked the tiny terracotta flower pots up in an antique store a couple of years ago...back when we were free to roam the land. I made the little seeds envelope. I thought I'd add some of my vintage bottles for good measure.

I took my Easter wreath down today and realised I hadn't taken an Easter style photo...better late than never.

I went to a lot of trouble coordinating the colours and then gave it a vintage mono look which I preferred

29/30: April 2020: A month in 30 pictures

I made this picture a few years ago but thought the saying is quite apt in our current situation.

Texture my own.

Penultimate day for the April challenge, not sure whether to be relieved or sad.

I tried to get a photo of my dog today but he wasn't obliging. He is very old and I don't like to mess him about too much so it's another flat lay.

Day 221/365:

Title from the hymn sheet. Hymn 674 Sum Frieden, which according to Google translate means To Peace.

Our first night in Iceland was in a Guesthouse in Hafnarfjörður, near Reyjkavik. The room was veeery tiny! Thank God was just 1 night...this is the view we had from the window...was not the best Icelandic view, but I liked the image somewhat.

Yes, I've been deadheading the roses again...

The photo in this image is of my friend's late parents, Margaret and Sandy. Everyone was given a copy of the print at Margaret's funeral earlier this year. She was a truly remarkable lady. As soon as I saw the photo I knew I had to use it in a still life image. I sent the image to my friend who said she'd been having a really bad day and this picture gave her some comfort and seemed like a message from them. I don't know what made me decide to use the photo today but sometimes things just happen for a reason.

The tulips again. A busy afternoon looking after our gorgeous baby granddaughter so a rush job before the light went and it starts to rain. I think these tulips are going to feature a lot, even when they start to fade...especially when they start to fade! ;)

Life is like a cup of tea...it's all in how you make it

Another tea related flatlay but it's been a busy day and I couldn't think of anything else to take a photo of.

Day 17/365:

Definitely Dreaming - More than one

This is a tiny vintage pastry tin, on a cookbook, with my collection of pigeon eggshells. Who doesn't collect pigeon eggshells as photo props...just me huh?

#85 in my 100 x challenge - 100 Lensbaby images

Another dull day here so I thought I'd have a play with my new torch to light the image.

I was tempted to use flowers on a book but thought this was more autumnal for the October challenge. I may do a high key floral one another day though.

Lensbaby Sol 45, blades disengaged this time to let a bit more light in.

Day 262/365:

A lot of today has been spent watching our late Queen's funeral. A sad but wonderfully organised event. a fitting tribute to an amazing lady who will be much missed. The rest of the day was spent with our family who came to visit. We had fun playing with our grandson (well, I wasn't very involved with the playing) and cuddles with our new baby granddaughter.

So it was quite late before I managed a photo. I will try to do something a bit different soon. My back is improving slowly but I'm not going to push myself too soon.

220/365: I succumbed to this vintage net curtain in a delightful little shop in Holt, Norfolk. I feel there is a lot more mileage from this lavender too, from my recent trip to Hitchin Lavender.

Sorry to post so many images but I've been away again, for a few days. This going away lark, with no internet connection, plays havoc with a 365. Will catch up with commenting asap.

Verblühte Rosen , welche sich noch einmal in Höchstleistung von Schönheit präsentieren durften . Vintage in Pastell --- ein ruhiges Farbenspiel für das Auge .

/////

Faded roses, which were once again able to present themselves in maximum beauty. Vintage in pastel --- a calm play of colors for the eye.

====

The camera was set internally to soft pastel colors and less contrasts. This is how the delicate pastel character comes about, slight overexposure creates the high key effect through higher ISO. The unsharp area was achieved using a Lensbaby composer per 50 lens. Have fun with my picture. Greetings Christine

Day 21/365:

This is a bit of a thrown together 'that'll do' image. I didn't have much time so put up a pink backdrop with the cup and rosebuds in mind but couldn't think beyond that so just grabbed the cage and put some vintage cotton spools in. Hence the title. I added a texture (my own).

I may not have much time for Flickr over the next few days or so. I will post my daily pic but may not be able to comment much. I will do my best though.

Remind me why I'm doing a 365 ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

The weather is dreadful today so another still life...now I'm getting back in the swing of things. A bit thrown together but day three done and dusted.

#86 - 100 x challenge - Lensbaby

I love the splash of purple that asters bring to autumn. Alongside the asters are my vintage scissors that I acquired recently. The book dates back to at least 1796, you may be able to see the date that is written in it. I love anything with a bit of history.

Macro Monday - Wabi-Sabi

Wabi-sabi is a Japanese word roughly translating as 'imperfect aged beauty'. It is used to describe a particular philosophy that beauty can be found in the old, the everyday, the imperfect, broken and decaying subjects.

This is something I wholeheartedly endorse.

This dried rose is one of several I have kept as photo props. The book it is resting on is called Scotch Preacher, a book of sermons printed in 1792. Several people wrote their names in it...the first being in 1796. I found it in a book store in Norfolk and feel honoured to be it's guardian and to get to use it as a photo prop.

The photo is one of the first from my new acquisition...Lensbaby Velvet 56. I need a lot more practise but am so impressed with the macro capabilities. Being totally manual it is hard to get to grips with the focus and this could be sharper even at 1.6. I think I'm deluding myself into thinking it is sharp under the soft glow...which is apparently what it's supposed to achieve. I am already in love with the lens so will keep on practising. HMM

More dead hydrangeas.

This one with my vintage iron was overlooked from earlier in the year, but I had intended it to be part of my 100 x challenge.

Lensbaby Velvet 85

It's a miserable rainy day today so I decided to have a play. I took a few photos of my dried hydrangea...so you may be subjected to more.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Day 182/365:

Definitely Dreaming - I'm reading - Reading the menu for afternoon tea at Luton Hoo. I went there for my big birthday recently and brought the menu home as a keepsake...and a photo prop, of course!

Well, today sees the start of the seventh month in my 2022 365 journey. Still not sure I'll manage to see this one through to the end but I'm doing my best...even though there have been many, many days where I've been ready to throw in the towel.
