My '72 Vdub, Halloween of '99.
It was my pride and joy. A fully complete camper, a Porsche 911 engine with dual carbs...even the original radio!
I sold it to finance grad school.
Dumbest move of my life.
Uno de esos primeros Escarabajos con la luna trasera dividida.Perfectamente restaurado son caros pero éste modelo ha sido modificado a los gustos de su joven dueño. La antena, en el medio del parabrisas, es una Telefunken con las letras bien resaltadas en metal. Los indicadores de giro son las piezas de metal entre la puerta y la ventanilla trasera. Salían al poner la señal para indicar la dirección. Cosas de otros tiempos.

My son in law took me to a bug show. He was showing me all great old cars. I was standing there and I owned several models, and they were "new" at the time. Driving to the beach every day and enjoy the surf was so fun in these. Chicks loved them but gotta admit that making out in a bug was really hard.
I hope I have aged as well as these great cars. Most of them here are from the 1960s with the bug in the foreground a 1968.

Este trío de Volkswagens tienen un denominador común. Ése motor que llevan no es de la casa de Wolfburg. Se trata en los tres casos de unidades Subaru. Como son refrigeradas por agua, la tradicional olla de grillos de los VW refrigerados por aire brilla por su ausencia.

Glasgow was again a host city for the start of the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique and a number of local runs for classic vehicles. The cars departed once more from Paisley Abbey. This image shows a beige 1971 Volkswagen Beetle - EVB 760J - and a blue 1966 Vauxhall Viva 90 Deluxe - FWG 283D - parked up at the start area.

this is for you sara, and your love of all things vdub!
this is a model that my son got for hubby recently...similar to the one hub used to own before we were married...in fact...his old vdub took us on our first date. the kids have heard the story over the years, so boy~child {man~child} gave this to his dad as a sweet reminder. i love and treasure it!
after meeting sara last year at a flickr meetup, and realizing her absolute passion for all things vdub, whenever i pass this precious reminder, i now, always think of you too, sara...may ALL your passions be realized this year!
