Infrared is a tricky game. Especially when it's cloudy outside. And rainy.

I recently had one of my cameras converted full time to infrared.

I had a 590nm Filter installed by Kolari Vision.

I did some minimal post-processing, channel swapping and fiddling a little with the hue/saturation.

Seriously... there is no more fun way to immediately void the warranty on your camera. ;-)

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): The Berry Building (Home of O. H. Berry & Co. Richmond, Va.). This splendid building for many years past owned and occupied by the foremost clothiers of the entire south -- O.H. Berry & Company is not only a delight to the eye from the exterior but is one of the handsomest and best appointed buildings inside -- for the conduct of a high-class clothing business such as is done by this firm -- to be found anywhere in this country. Unsurpassed facilities and unsurpassable clothing is the slogan of the Berry Store.

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): This stately old mansion owes its fame to the fact that it was the former home of Miss Van Lew, a Union Sympathizer during the Civil War. She frequently found means of conveying secret information to the Federal armies investing Richmond, and harbored for a time the 19 prisoners who escaped from Libby Prison. After the war she was appointed Post-Mistress of Richmond by Gen'l Grant, then president of the U.S. The building is now used as private hospital.

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): The Van Lew House is probably one of the best examples of Colonial architecture. The date of erection is not known, but additions were made in 1792. The original grant was made to Sir William Byrd; in 1834 it came into the possession of Mr. John Van Lew, and during the Civil War was occupied by his daughter, Lizzie, the famous Union spy, who here secreted hundreds of Union soldiers. The house is now owned and occupied by the Virginia Club.

Virginia Commonwealth University is an urban university in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. There are about 34,000 part time and full time students.

View of seating in the SE corner.

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): Situated on Marshall and College Streets, on an eminence overlooking Shockoe Creek. It was established in 1838. The main building is a rare example of the ancient Egyptian order of architecture and has attracted much attention. Recognizing the great need of surgeons for armies in the field, its courses were continued without interruption during the whole of the Civil War. Many of the most eminent physicians and surgeons of the South were graduated from this institution.
