Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

"Turning the Sherman into a killer
From the hedgerow of Normandy, France, to the hills of Italy and the plains of Netherlands, the Firefly was one of the few Allied tanks the Germans learned to fear… Among the most potent Allied conversion of the war, and certainly one of the deadliest version of the Sherman, it was a clever -although risky and improvised- move to try to keep up with the latest German tank developments. At that time, the “basic” M4 Sherman equipped the Allies almost exclusively, from the US to the British, Canadian, ANZACS, Free Polish and Free French forces, and its limitations were well known before 1944.
Its basic 75 mm (2.95 in) gun was excellent to deal with other tanks at reasonable ranges and against armor up to 75 mm (2.95 in), or against fortifications and infantry. But facing the latest versions of the Panzer IV, the Panther and Tiger, it was woefully inadequate. However, the British Army had just received the superlative 17 pounder, which proved itself able to nail any known Panzer. Mated with the Sherman, this stopgap combination (before the new generation of Allied tanks could enter service) became lethal, and added its own weight to the Allied effort to secure victory."

Um belo dia, sem que lhe fosse imposta
nenhuma das agonias da gestação ou parto,
o doutor lhe põe nos braços uma criança. Completamente grátis - nisto é que está a maravilha. Sem dores, sem choro, aquela criancinha da sua raça, da qual morria de saudades, símbolo ou penhor da mocidade perdida.
No entanto - no entanto! - nem tudo são flores no caminho da avó.
Há acima de tudo, o entrave maior, a grande rival: a mãe. Não importa que ela em si, seja sua filha. Não deixa por isso de ser a mãe. Não importa que ela ensine à criança a lhe dar beijos e a lhe chamar de "vovozinha" e lhe conte que de noite, às vezes, ela de repente acorda e pergunta por você. São lisonjas, nada mais.
Rigorosamente, nas suas posições respectivas, a mãe e a avó representam, em relação ao neto, papéis muito semelhantes ao da esposa e da amante nos triângulos conjugais. A mãe tem todas as vantagens da domesticidade e da presença constante. Dorme com ele, dá-lhe de comer, dá-lhe banho, veste-o. Embala-o de noite. Contra si tem a fadiga, a rotina, a obrigação de educar e o ônus de castigar.
Já a avó não tem direitos legais, mas oferece a sedução do romance e do imprevisto. Mora em outra casa. Traz presentes. Faz coisas programadas, leva a passear, "não ralha nunca", deixa se lambuzar de pirulito. Não tem a menor pretensão pedagógica.
Até as coisas negativas se viram em alegrias quando se intrometem entre avó e neto: o bibelô que se quebrou porque ele - involuntariamente! - bateu com a bola nele. Está quebrado e remendado, mas enriquecido com preciosas recordações: os cacos na mãozinha, os olhos arregalados, o beiço pronto para o choro; e depois o sorriso malandro e aliviado porque ninguém zangou, o culpado foi a bola mesmo, não foi, vó?
Era um simples boneco que custou caro.
Hoje é relíquia: não tem dinheiro que pague!
