The RADCASTle is monophonic synthesizer using analog sound-generating circuitry driven by a microcontroller. This was a ECE4007 Senior Design Project at Georgia Tech in the Fall 2008 semester. The team members were Robert Estelle, Logan Snow, Hoan To, and Greg Hartl.
The analog boards were purchased from Ray Wilson of Music From Outer Space. The team developed customer to interface the various analog synth boards with a PIC microcontroller through digital-to-analog converters.

The Z8 uses UIQ 3.1 as its interface. In the demo it was impressively quick. The softkey interface works very well with UIQ 3 despite it origin as a touchscreen UI.

The Physical User Interface (PUI) for 2016 is a color selector based on the Wheel of Fortune. Give a swing to the wheel and the color is chosen where the wheel stops.
Two EV3 color sensors are used to read the actual color.
One thing that I am coming to appreciate more and more, is that there really is very little that can be done to a digital image on a pixel-level. Basically, it is just;
Hue
Saturation
Luminosity (brightness)
The only thing that can be done to a pixel is to change one of these 3 vectors.
All that the endless array of "filters" and Photoshop adjustments do, is provide a different user-interface for making those three adjustments.
All JPG engines also alter these 3 vectors algorithmically, to try to optimize the image as the JPG engineer thinks it should be. The real question is; why allow someone else to do that?
I spent a lot of time on this image, working to get the colors, shadow-detail and sharpness/NR balance exactly where I wanted it. There is nothing at all that is arbitrary here.
This isn’t really my grandmother’s house, but it is very close to my recollection of it. Think; 5-year-old visiting an elderly widow in 1958.
