this is the arcade game I worked on.
I was tasked to work on the Game User Interface art and low res snow mobiles in this game.
I helped design the introduction. This was one of the most exciting game user interface I worked on because it was realtime 3d. The intro to the player select was simple and pulled you right into the game as soon as you hit the start button. This was designed for the Arcade version of the game so the intro needed to be fast. I also liked working on the snow mobiles, these were the first vehicles I had ever modeled and created textures for. The 2d graphics were fun to create. I modeled them in 3d studio max and edited them in Adobe Photoshop. The characters, snow mobile designs/ high res models, animations and logo were worked on by other artist on the team. The art I worked on for the track select back drop was created from art the track artist created. We did not have lighting in the game so I had to render lighting for the mountain using vert colors.

Blogged in The Woodwork: Why I YUI
First draft of the YUI library dependencies
Red/Orange: Core/CSS
Blue: Util
Green: Controls/Widgets
Magenta: Developer
Note that the total size of all the packages on the top half of the page is 23K (version 2.4.1, I'll check 2.5.0 later).
Note that I messed up the Container/Container Core part of the graphics library. Because of that it looks like there is a circular dependency with Menu and Button. Also that area is disorganized.
I also considered the CSS tools as one library for this diagram and marked it part of the core.
iOS App designed for Trey Ratcliff of stuckincustoms.com
I was responsible for creating and developing the entire graphic user interface/look and feel of the app as well as the icon.
Calibrated with Mark Powell of lavacado.com for the developing and Trey for design direction and final approval process.

The Smart Card software is supposed to be ubiquitous in the NHS - every bottom right corner, without exception, is to be taken over by it - briefly, for logging in.
The popup is a crucial tool.
Both are activated by the EMIS clinical record system with it's big window in the centre.
There is a button on the SmartCard window. You can't see it can you.
The popup is zordered on top.

A revamped Flavonoid configuration console. This allows easy configuration over USB. There'll be a few more commands in here for other features and crap, especially extracting the recorded data. This harkens back to the old school VT100 style terminal controls. There's no drag-and-drop here, just words and commands. (Evocative of Don Norman's bit on what he sees as a revival of the command line user interface. I wouldn't say that this here in particular is a breakthrough, except in being retro.)
I like this mode of interaction. There are commands with parameters and that's basically that. And output in a bottom area "annunciator" area. It makes the Flavonoid pretty much platform agnostic — anything that has a USB "COM port" and can obey VT100 terminal commands can interact here. And a keyboard.
This uses Pascal Stang's cmdline library from his great avrlib for Atmel 8-bit MCUs.
It's the long tail, of course! In this case, I use some random key terms to explain keyword research.
Here is an example: Pets, dogs, cocker spaniels, cocker spaniel puppies, and famous cocker spaniel puppies. See how many search results you get for the last one!

So, so we have been very lucky to have brought a few revolutionary user interfaces to the market in our time.
First was the mouse.
The second was the click wheel.
And now, we’re gonna bring multi-touch to the market.
And each of these revolutionary user interfaces has made possible a revolutionary product – the Mac, the iPod and now the iPhone.

On June 4th Bill Scott, the man who helped engineer Netflix's UI, got on his soapbox at ZURB to help you learn how he helped his teams approach product design.
The ZURB Soapbox lecture series is a new venture ZURB is embarking on where we invite entrepreneurs, designers, managers, movers, shakers and friends of ZURB to speak to a like-minded audience and spar with them afterward.

Total user interface fail in almost every respect.
It repeatedly barks "Please place your item on the scale", where the scale is a metre to your right and only obvious when you stand back this far to take a photo. The scanner has a dual purpose in supermarkets, where it can weigh too. But not here. Ok, so B&Q has bigger items than a supermarket, but the scale looks like a packing area. It needs a big sticker saying "SCALE".
When it had finished I inserted my card (off to the left after some more looking around, after moving the basket so I could get the card into the slot at the bottom). Eventually some little timeout timer went off and the screen silently changed to "payment method" on the lo-contrast [tm] screen. I'd already put my card in, but this wasn't enough for it to figure out I wanted to use a card.
A woman with worse people-interface skills than the orange machine was hovering between the four retardo-tills trying help people out by going "press that one, innit".
But wait, where are the bags? What do you mean they cost 10p and I'll have to queue again to buy one?
