UXINDIA2014: International Conference on User Experience Design - Day03 at MLR Convention Centre, Bangalore, India
Users of Dublin City Public Libraries are being asked for their views on their public library service. In a significant marketing survey over 1,400 questionnaires will be given out in Dublin City’s public libraries in the next two weeks.
This research is being undertaken as part of a national public library user survey and runs from Sep 17th for two weeks. The questionnaires and publicity material are available in five languages in order to obtain the views of as wide a range of users as possible.
Funded by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, it is coordinated at a national level by the Irish Library Council and will be implemented at a local level by branch library staff.
If you are asked at your local library to complete a questionnaire, please take a few minutes to let us know your views on your public library service.
Sometimes OSX loses its mind and reckons that I am the user called ????. Then you can't connect to the Net and your password (and everyone else's password) won't work. You have to force restart. But what happens to make it do this?

Blackmagic Camera users can now have the comfort and adjustability of a camera Top Handle. Ideal for carrying and low mode shooting, the Blackmagic Top Handle attaches to the camera with a 5” Z-rail piece. The 5” Z-Rail attaches to the top of the camera via two ¼ 20” screws. The handle attaches to the Z-Rail with a Zacuto quick release ratcheting lever. It can mount facing front or back on the Z-rail and can slide side to side for balance. The 15mm rod running through the handle is threaded to accept rod extensions or any of our Z-release mounts like ourT-Mount or Tri-mount to hold accessories.
Zacuto dovetail accessories are adjustable to work with Z-Rail, NATO, SWAT, RED, PICATINNY, and WOODEN CAMERA rails.

As intermediaries between NOAA National Weather Service forecasters and the public, broadcast meteorologists and emergency managers serve critical and complex roles in the communication of weather warnings. NSSL researchers work directly with end users to get their feedback on experimental forecast tools, including their interpretation of experimental probabilistic forecasts generated in the HWT from the Hazard Services - Probabilistic Hazards Information Experiment. As participants in the HS-PHI Experiment, broadcasters and emergency managers perform typical job functions under a simulated work environment as they receive experimental probabilistic advisories and warnings from NWS forecasters during displaced real-time events. Researchers study how participants interpret, use, and communicate probabilistic information. This feedback is used in conjunction with feedback from forecasters to refine how uncertainty information is generated and disseminated.

During the weeks of the HWT Experiment, forecasters assess a new tool using rapidly-updating high-resolution gridded Probabilistic Hazard Information (PHI) as the basis for next-generation severe weather warnings. This experiment is part of a broad effort to revitalize the NWS watch/warning paradigm known as Forecasting a Continuum of Environmental Threats (FACETs). The major emphasis of the HWT PHI experiment is on initial testing of concepts related to human-computer interaction while generating short-fused high-impact Probabilistic Hazard Information for severe weather. The long-term goal of this effort is to move the refined concepts and methodologies that result from this experiment into Hazard Services, the next generation warning tool for the NWS, for further testing and evaluation in the HWT prior to operational deployment. This experiment will run concurrently with the “HS-PHI with End Users” experiment.
