This year's Boston Teachers College Scholarship, awarded at an alumni lunch on Nov. 6, is supporting two future teachers, Alicia Blackman '12 and Ben Boegehold '12, who flank Madeline McLean Smith '51.
Esta mañana he visitado el Centro de Rehabilitación Laboral de Usera donde se lleva a cabo el "Ropero Solidario", un programa de recogida, tratamiento, donación y venta de ropa usada en el que participan personas con enfermedad mental. Estas personas adquieren habilidades útiles para su acceso al mundo laboral mientras ayudan a los demás y luchan contra el estigma de sus enfermedades, demostrando que son capaces, útiles y solidarios. Si tenéis ropa que queráis donar, podéis llevarla a la C/Ordicia, en Madrid.
Mi agradecimiento a Arcadio Vidal (@arcadividal) por la información de esta romería y por acompañarme a "sus localizaciones". Sin esta ayuda, me hubiera sido imposible realizar este reportaje que no se cubre en una visita y gracias a Alberto Casanova por ponerme en contacto con nuestro amigo Arcadio; excelentes ambos.
Llevaba varios años queriendo asistir a esta romería y no solo ha merecido la pena el asistir, sino que queda pendiente el año que viene.
Els Pelegrins de Les Useres es una peregrinación (romería) que se celebra todos los años el último Viernes de Abril. En esta tradición doce peregrinos y un guía caminan por senderos de montaña hasta el santuario de San Juan de Peñagolosa, donde pernoctan, para regresar el Sábado.
Todo el pueblo participa, 46 protagonistas en total. Los personajes que componen esta procesión son los siguientes: El guía, los peregrinos, los cantores, el sacerdote, el alcalde o representante del Ayuntamiento, los clavarios y las cargas. Para los peregrinos la figura del Cristo es esencial además del Padre y de la Trinidad.
La romería comienza con un estricto ceremonial, que marca la colocación de los participantes, las estaciones de descanso y hasta lo que hay que comer durante el largo camino. En la ermita de Sant Miquel de les Torrocelles se escucha misa y hay una comida romera en la que no se puede hablar con los peregrinos. La llegada a Sant Joan de Penyagolosa es por la tarde, se realiza una procesión para recibirles.(www.cuandopasa.com)

Gebel el-Silsila or Gebel Silsileh (Egyptian: Kheny or Khenu) is 65 km north of Aswan, where the cliffs on both sides of the Nile narrow. The name Kheny (or sometimes Khenu) means "The Place of Rowing". It was used as a quarry site from at least the 18th Dynasty to Greco-Roman times.
On the west bank are rock cut shrines for Horemheb, Seti I, Ramesses II and Merenptah. A chapel dedicated by User, vizier under Hatshepsut, is also located there.
Many of the talatats used by Akhenaten were quarried from here, and used in buildings at Luxor and Amarna. Akhenaten's sculptor Bek oversaw the opening of a stone quarry here.
