The 200 East Broward’s iconic 21-story, rose granite and limestone tower has defined the downtown Fort Lauderdale skyline since its completion in 1992. More than $4.8 million of capital was invested in a renovation and modernization program, which has resulted in an impressive entryway that highlights the sophisticated and contemporary common areas that are sure to impress both employees and clients.
The proximity to highways makes for an auto commuter's dream, and the Brightline Fort Lauderdale station is just blocks down the street, allowing a connection to West Palm Beach and Miami in just 30 minutes. Located at the epicenter of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, 200 East Broward is surrounded by high-end office buildings, luxury residential high-rises, and world-class hotels, and the nearby Las Olas Boulevard is internationally renowned for its fashion, fine dining, and entertainment options.
There is an on-site café that services tenants in the building, and quick services options, including Athena Must-Have Greek and Starbucks, are located just blocks away. Fine dining options, including Timpano Italian Chophouse and Lobster Bar Sea Grille, are within a five-minute drive, and more casual options, including SuViche, YOLO, and Sky Thai Sushi. 200 East Broward offers tenants the perfect opportunity to experience all that the downtown Fort Lauderdale area contains in a prominent building that is primed to help businesses thrive.

The Glenn H. Curtiss Mansion and Gardens is a historic home located at 500 Deer Run in Miami Springs, Florida, and open to the public as an event space or for private tours by prior arrangement. It is located at the northern edge of Miami International Airport.
Designed in the Pueblo Revival style, the mansion was constructed in 1925 by aviation pioneer Glenn Hammond Curtiss, developer of the Miami suburbs of Hialeah and Opa-Locka, Florida, as well as Miami Springs. Curtiss lived at the large, two-story residence with his wife, Lena Curtiss, until his death in 1930. Mrs. Curtiss referred to the mansion as "Dar-Err-Aha," which means "House of Happiness."
The mansion was the largest of Pueblo-themed houses built by the Curtiss-Wright Company in its development of Country Club Estates in Miami Springs. The house features a central patio that faces the eastern perimeter of the golf course. The landscaped estate consisted of over 30 acres (120,000 m2), with a small lake on the east side of the property. Curtiss brought many species of water birds to the lake, including flamingos and swans. Together with the adjacent property, it formed a 21-acre (85,000 m2) complex.
After Curtiss's death in the early 1930s, Lena Curtiss married an old friend and business associate of her husband, H. Sayre Wheeler. Wheeler served as mayor of Miami Springs from 1942 to 1944 and was also part owner of the Michaels and Wheeler Insurance Company. The couple lived in the house until the late 1940s. The estate was sold in the mid-1950s and became the world-renowned Miami Springs Villas. It was sold to Forte Hotels, International, Inc. in the late 1970s and is currently owned by the city of Miami Springs.
Since 1998, the Pueblo Revival-style Mansion has been the property of the City of Miami Springs, and the not-for-profit all-volunteer Curtiss Mansion, Inc. was formed to restore and operate this historic home.
Designated a Miami Springs historic site in 1987, the mansion was added to the NRHP on December 21, 2001.
Its architect, Martin L. Hampton, was one of Miami's most prominent architects during the 1920s—his designs include the former Miami Beach City Hall and the Congress Building in downtown Miami. The house is roughly V-shaped in plan and constructed of hollow clay tile with a rough-textured stucco exterior. The roof is flat with very irregular parapet walls embellished by projecting waterspouts and irregular-shaped openings. The main entrance to the residence is set within a deeply recessed T-shaped opening and marked by a flat-roofed porte-cochere. At the south end of the lake are an arbor and barbecue grill. The grill was constructed of oolitic limestone (coral rock), which was a by-product of digging the lake.
Beginning in the late 1970s, the house was subject to vandalism and a number of fires. In 1998, a public/private partnership of Curtiss Mansion, Inc. (CMI), along with the State of Florida Division of Historical Resources, Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, the Miami-Dade County Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Florida Municipal Insurance Trust, the Miami Springs Historical Society, the City of Miami Springs and countless private and corporate donors, the Mansion doors reopened to the public in 2012. After 17 years of grassroots efforts, including raising several million dollars, the Mansion became available for historic, cultural, educational, recreational, social, civic, and other community uses. Although the mansion is owned by the City of Miami Springs, CMI is tasked with sustaining fundraising efforts, maintenance, daily operations, and oversight of the Mansion and all of its activities.

After work I regurarly have to wait for my wife to arrive since she's most of the days doing overtime, I don't actually mind anymore since now I carry my camera and tripod with me all the time, so this is one of the results of waiting for my wife to arrive and hanging around Mechelen train station.
I did a couple of shots first on the tripod but was not 100% satisfied, so I put my camera straight on the concrete and tried to watch through the viewfinder without falling into the canal ;), this are time when I do think live-view could be a good option.

Here I am again posting more photos when I never know how much time I will have to comment because of my nerve problem. Sorry about that my friends. I'm just trying to post as many of my archive photos as possible before I start taking new pictures. Please don't feel the need to comment on these. Thanks for everything! Have a nice weekend and blessed Easter. Those that have the Easter Bunny coming to their house don't eat too much candy all at once.

I saw this at the garden department of Home Depot. I haven't gotten it for my garden--yet. [EDIT: Looks like I won't, either, because when I went back to buy it, there were no more. Next time I will not resist the urge for an impulse purchase.]
Here's some information about this lovely flower.
Enjoy your Sunday.

About
When I was travelling home the sky looked awesome, I needed to get some photos of this, after the necessary grocery shopping I rushed to this lake, parked my car, jumped over the fence of the railway tracks, took some snaps there first ( still to come ), jumped over the second fence and arrived at the shore of the lake. There was a lot of wind, the water wasn't calm at all - as I would have liked - so time for compromises, I normally would go for f/11-f/13 as I'm doing landscape HDR, nice and crisp, but with the water so unrestful I needed to look what was best here, go for extreme long exposures and have it all evened out and smooth or get it as short as possible to try and fix the movement of the water? So i checked at f/22 which was the smallest diaphragm I could get, no not long enough. Go to the bother of getting the ND106 filter on? No, the awesome looking sky would loose most of it's beauty, so check for large diaphragms, at f/6.4 it looked fast enough to get the 3 exposures to align...
Here again I felt real lucky to have the Manfrotto's possibility to get the upper bar into
a horizontal position and get my camera into a position I could not get with a 'normal' tripod, the camera is positioned really at the edge of the water, floating as it were, while the base of the tripod is on solid ground to the right.

Never far from water, the Steller’s sea eagle displays impressive fishing skills. Taking advantage of warm updrafts of air, the eagle glides above the water, looking out for fish. Its favorite prey, the salmon, has an extremely tough skin for which the eagle is equipped with a specialized hatchet-like beak.
In addition to diving from above, the sea eagle will also stand in the water and grab fish as they swim by.
If given the chance, Steller’s sea eagles will steal food from other birds.

Well I'm posting some pictures in the wee hours of the early morning because I couldn't sleep. The pain issue sure disrupts that. Since yesterday afternoon the pain in my foot and ankle has returned to excruciating after being tolerable for the last couple of days. Normally I have only been getting 4 to 5 hours sleep every night because of the pain anyway. Today it's been 9 weeks since my hip replacement surgery and basically I'm more worse off than ever. Maybe I should never had the surgery done. I wish I would have known all the risks for this operation. I was given just the basic trouble spots for this surgery. Either way I probably would have gotten the surgery anyway thinking I would be just fine. Sorry everyone that I'm rambling on. I guess I just needed to vent. Thanks everyone for putting up with my complaints and all your support. I hope you all have a nice Monday with some sunshine whether it be in the sky or your heart.

I went to the zoo for awhile today. It was so hot! Anyway to top off my day my camera broke down. I don't know what the problem is so I have to take it to a camera shop and pray they can fix it. Its been a rough week at my house. Daughters car is broke, Romeo my dog is recovering from being very sick, hubby's back is out, and now my camera is broken. Sure hope next week is more positive! Hope your all having an easier time than I'm having. Also I may not be on Flickr too long as its storming out. Don't want to get hit by lightning! Have a great week everyone!

I will try to see eveyones beautiful photos but sometimes its hard for me to sit at the computer. Either way I will always catch up. I appreciate all your kindness, comments, and invitations.
