At first when I saw the sun cut through the haze above the tree canopy I thought I was out of luck. Thankfully though, I grasped the opportunity to shoot something "a bit different". This is a section of Looking Glass Creek in the Pisgah National Forest above the falls.

One of my favorite falls in Upstate South Carolina to shoot.

 

Located on private property and yet unnamed by the landowner and his family who have owned the property for over 100 years.

 

Yellow Branch Falls in Oconee County, SC. This is from my 1st of what I'm sure will be many trips to this Upstate SC waterfall.

Railroad track leading south from McCormick, S.C.. Carries mostly raw pulpwood products.

Old Pickens Presbyterian Church. One of the oldest churches in the upstate of South Carolina. It is located just off Hiway 183 in eastern Oconee Co. near the Lake Keowee dam. Two of my grandparents are buried here.

As the sun set, a thunderstorm gathered near my house and created a beautiful sunset.

This old barn is part of a vanishing landscape all over our state & all of rural America.

A small town & county seat in midwestern South Carolina. A quiet southern town that was once agricultural. Now its primary industry is pulpwood.
