Barns have become more of a regular subject of mine. I don't take many man made images but I find a quaint old barn makes for a beautiful scenic subject.
I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

I took this shot in 2009 while stationed in Ithaca, NY as a military recruiter. Here in 2022, I came back and did some editing to add some 'star spikes' to a select few of the stars.

Keep looking up! I learn from the past, dream about the future and look up. There's nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a healthy day.

While on a recent wildflower hunt in upstate SC, we found a few of these beauties, the Catesby's Trillium, or Trillium Catesbaei or the bashful trillium. The leaves resemble bat wings to me.
If you're in the forest and find any trilliums, please don't act on your temptation to dig some up. The flower needs very special soil conditions to grow and will die. Additionally, the flowers once picked may affect other flowers so that future trillium won't be able to grow in that spot again. So HANDS OFF please!
Photographed with a Lensbaby Velvet 85mm with a +2 macro filter.

If anyone feels like photographing this waterfall all you have to do is make your way to Downtown Walden in New york , you'd be suprissed to find it among the buildings churches and highways ;)
I can't remember which state park this was. This was taken during a side trip I did exploring upstate NY. Its a surprising mix of natural beauty, rundown old towns and quaint little places.

Here, in Upstate, NY where I live, we have just experienced the driest October in 150 years. I believe that having one of these Hydrometers is essential to keep an eye on the moisture in the soil. I won't add more water since the leaves are all gone off the plant. It should be fine, but I will check it again later just to make sure!
