Barns have become more of a regular subject of mine. I don't take many man made images but I find a quaint old barn makes for a beautiful scenic subject.
I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D
Captured in: Callicoon, NY.
Pictured here is the launch and subsequent explosion of a fireworks rocket & shell during a fireworks show. The image was captured during an annual July 4th event held in upstate NY.
My brother-in-law was part of the pyrotechnics team that was running the show, so we were fortunate to get an up-close and personal view of the launch area.
I found this one while recently looking back through the archives. ;) Not sure why I never got around to posting it, especially as I happened to really like the shot.

These are watercolors he did in upstate New York not that far west from where I am, in summer. I realize that Homer is a hidden influence in my recent series Meadow walk and maybe the marsh ducks too. Doesn't he influence all American artists?
So this aged beyond its years VW Bus is just what I slept in when I attended the very first Woodstock Music Festival in upstate New York. Kept me dry from all the rain and mud that weekend.
Shot in Western Massachusetts off the side of a side road, as Arlo would say. Olympus E-5, Sigma 30mm 1.4f.
I was in upstate NY for a few days and I should have waited until next week to go for peak fall colors, but it was still beautiful!

I took this shot in 2009 while stationed in Ithaca, NY as a military recruiter. Here in 2022, I came back and did some editing to add some 'star spikes' to a select few of the stars.

FGLK GS-2 sweep turn departs the industrial wasteland of Auburn, NY on its way to Geneva, NY with a sharp pair of SD38s leading the way. Once again thanks to Plantmanic Resort and Tours Inc for showing me around.
While on a recent wildflower hunt in upstate SC, we found a few of these beauties, the Catesby's Trillium, or Trillium Catesbaei or the bashful trillium. The leaves resemble bat wings to me.
If you're in the forest and find any trilliums, please don't act on your temptation to dig some up. The flower needs very special soil conditions to grow and will die. Additionally, the flowers once picked may affect other flowers so that future trillium won't be able to grow in that spot again. So HANDS OFF please!
Photographed with a Lensbaby Velvet 85mm with a +2 macro filter.
Thanks for viewing my photos. Comments are always welcome.

I think it's the Lake Shore Marshes Wildlife Management Area in Wayne County but I'm not completely sure.
